Remedy
: Remove any chip component or foreign substance such as debris attached on the
suppressor and completely clean the suppressor.
Foreign Substance
If the taping component is mounted with any foreign substance attached, the suppressor
might be deformed or a pick-up error occur.
Therefore, clean it.
Cause : A chip component is attached to the inside cover tape processing unit
and moves irregularly.
Remedy
: Unload the tape and process the tape end correctly, and then load it.

Perform the end processing before the tape loading.
Refer to "2.4 Tape End Processing Procedure" for the tape end processing procedure.
Cause : Cover Tape Processing Unit Malfunction

In the case that the tape end processing is not correct, a malfunction might be
caused in the tape loading.

n the case that there are any wrinkles on the tape, a malfunction might occur.

In the case the succeeding tape thickness is not even, a malfunction might
occur.

: Clean the machine’s vacuum nozzle as described in the SIGMA-G5/G5S/F8 instruction
manual “Section 4: Maintenance and Troubleshooting”.
If the factory is dusty or if paper taping component is often used, then the vacuum nozzle and vacuum
nozzle lter can easily become dirty.
Keep them clean.

9.2 Tape Feeder not correctly locked
Remedy
: Remove any chip component or foreign substance such as debris attached on the
feeder base and completely clean the feeder base.
If the tape feeder is used while it has not been locked, it might cause damage to the machine or pick-
up error.
Attach the tape feeder securely to the feeder base.
Cause : Chip component or foreign substances including debris have been
attached onto the feeder base.

The sprocket gears do not engage with the perforations.
Remedy
: Unload the tape and process the tape end correctly, and then load it again.
Cause : Carrier Tape Sprocket Hole not engaged with the sprocket teeth.
