12.6.5.1 General
The fast head exchange is a new function which enables you to change a placement head in 15 minutes.
The first version of this function with software 702 only supports rapid head changing between placement
heads of the same type.
Requirements:
SW 702 and the latest eSW versions
The placement heads in the machine have the calibration data stored in the EEPROM.
Fast head changing is not possible if the CPP with stationary camera is to be changed.
Fast head changing is not possible for the Twin Head.
If these requirements are fulfilled, the heads can be changed and will be ready for operation after a brief
calibration run.
This brief calibration procedure covers the following points:
Calibration of the component camera on the head (determination of head rotation angle to board
camera)
Determination of the segment offset with the reference segment (determination of the global
segment offset (head offset) to the board camera and the positioning over all stationary cameras)
12.6.5.2 Hardware Changes
Head plate with hook, placement head with eyelet
Screws as torx screws
Screws are fastened to head with loss proof fixture
Reduction of compressed air connections on compressed air distributor, T piece between pressure
control valve and return unit
NOTE:
These hardware changes apply only to C&P20A and CPP heads.

12.6.5.3 Software Changes
A differentiation can be made between a complete head exchange and a spare parts replacement on
the head, and between the precalibrated heads (data in EEPROM) and calibrated heads in the machine
(no data in EEPROM).
When using calibrated heads in the machine, the
head data needs to be written to the EEPROMs (1)
after performing a software update to SW702.
These placement heads are now prepared for the
Fast Head Exchange option.

The current nozzles are placed in the NC and, if
present, calibration nozzles are taken up. A nozzle
and height reference run are performed.
The machine is now closed down and the heads
can be dismantled.
