6.11.4 Safety Instructions
Please ensure that all safety instructions in this section have been followed.

CAUTION
Safety of Operators and Other Persons
– Machine operators may only carry out work for which they have been adequately trained and
with which they are totally familiar!
– NEVER open one of the protective covers if you are not totally familiar with the use and func-
tion of this machine!
– The protective covers may only be opened during operation if you are requested to do so in
this Manual or by a dialog in the station software!
– Never remove this module from the changeover table while the host machine is in operation.
– Never make changes, however minor, unless you are totally aware of the effect they will
have on the overall functioning of the system.
– This machine must always be set-up, retooled and maintained by appropriately trained per-
sonnel.
– Only use original spare parts and authorized accessories of ASM Assembly Systems. The
use of other parts will affect safety and can invalidate the liability for any consequential dam-
age.
– Do not make modifications to the safety equipment, in particular NEVER deactivate circuit-
breakers or remove safety devices.
– For your own safety, wear work clothes that conform to the guidelines of the professional
association, i.e. no wide sleeves, etc.
– Reduce the risks by not wearing scarves, chains or ties at your work post.
– People with long hair must wear a protective head covering.
– Always follow the safety regulations specific to your country!
WARNING
Voltage
This machine is electrically driven. When electrical devices are in use, certain parts carry a voltage of
25Vdc!
Before performing any work on parts which conduct electricity, switch the placement machine off
at the main switch and unplug the Harting connector to remove power to this module.
There is a risk of fatal injuries, severe injuries and/or considerable damage to equipment if any of
these instructions are not followed!

For further information on how to complete the tasks please visit the experience area on

CAUTION
Before performing any cleaning and checking work or service work, a procedure of locking
and tagging must be followed. The procedure, when followed correctly eliminates the pos-
sibility of an employee being injured.
Please see further safety instructions on lock out tag in chapter 2 of this user manual.
CAUTION
For safety instructions of specific modules on the machine, please read the instructions in
chapter 2 of this user manual.
CAUTION
After switching off the machine, please wait for 5 minutes before doing work on the power
supply module.
