1 Introduction
This manual provides technical information and describes how to operate the SIPLACE JTF-ML2
(JEDEC Tray Feeder) on SIPLACE® TX1/TX2 machines.
JEDEC waffle pack trays can be made available to the placement machine using the SIPLACE
JTF-ML2 option.
NOTICE
SIPLACE TX V1 and V2
This manual applies to the SIPLACE TX V1 and SIPLACE TX V2. Any differences will be
explicitly indicated.
1.1 Module description
In SIPLACE TX machines, a SIPLACE JTF-ML2 can be installed on the output side at location 1.
Depending on the magazine type, the SIPLACE JTF-ML2 stores up to 18 standard or 14 thick
JEDEC waffle pack tray magazines in two exchangeable cassettes and supplies them as required.
The placement machine can therefore be supplied with different component types at variable
changeover times.

The feeder modules have a typeplate, which
specifies, among other things, the type, ma-
terial and serial number.

The typeplate(1) is located on the side of
the SIPLACE JTF‑ML2.
The ID label tower(2) is located next to the
door at the tower.
The ID label conveyor(3) is located at the
top side of the conveyor.

1.1.3 Correct Usage
The product may only be used for the application cases described in the catalogues and technical
specifications i.e. for placement of SMD components and only in connection with the third party
devices and components recommended or approved by ASM Assembly Systems GmbH & Co. KG.
Any other use is deemed to be incorrect and not as prescribed.
If the product is not used as prescribed, ASM Assembly Systems GmbH & Co. KG will accept no
liability for any damage that may occur and will not guarantee that the components will work prop-
erly and without problems.
Prescribed or correct usage includes the observance of all the instructions in the user manual.
The proper and safe operation of the product requires correct transportation, storage, installation
and assembly, plus careful, accurate utilization and servicing.
1.1.4 Incorrect Usage
Failure to use the product as prescribed can result in both danger to life and limb and material
damage. For this reason, non-prescribed usage is prohibited. If the product is not used as pre-
scribed, ASM Assembly Systems GmbH & Co. KG will not accept liability for any damage that may
occur and will not guarantee that the components will work properly and without problems.
Non-prescribed use of the module includes the following examples:

Operation of the module with safety equipment deactivated or removed.

Placement of components that do not meet the permitted specification.
●
Use of unauthorized accessories and additional modules.
●
Use of the module by unqualified personnel.

1.1.7 Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
All SIPLACE products are designed and tested for professional use in industrial applications.
Electromagnetic compatibility in terms of the emission of interference cannot be guaranteed in any
other environment.
1.1.8 Use of original accessories and spare parts
Only use original spare parts and authorized accessories. The use of other parts will affect safety
and will invalidate the liability for any consequential damage.
1.2 Important Notes about this Manual
1.2.1 Contents and Filing of this Manual
This User Manual contains basic information that must be observed when setting up, operating and
maintaining the machine. The service engineers, qualified staff, operators and users must therefore
read it before commencing installation and commissioning. The instructions must be kept perman-
ently accessible wherever the machine is used.
In addition, the user must ensure that the employees have fully understood the contents of the user
manual.
1.2.2 Danger notes

► Work may only be performed on the JEDEC tray feeder if the personnel concerned
have a thorough knowledge of the relevant section of the user manual.
► All work must be carried out by appropriately trained and qualified personnel.
► All warnings, cautions and hazard notes must be observed.
► Carefully read through Chapter 2 on operational safety in the user manual for this pur-
pose.
