Durch den Umbau ist das 3x8 mm-Zuführmodul jetzt ein Shetterless Feeder. Diese Änderung muss
hinten auf dem Gerät dokumentiert werden, damit diese Information auch zu erkennen ist, wenn sich
das Zuführmodul in der Produktion auf einem BE-Tisch befindet.
X Kleben Sie das im Nachrüstsatz enthaltene Etikett mit der neuen Shutterless-Feeder-Artikelnummer
(00141088-01) in der abgebildeten Position hinten am Bedienfeld des Zuführmoduls auf das „alte“
Etikett.
HINWEIS:
Wenn Sie das Zuführmodul von einem Shutterless Feeder auf einen herkömmlichen S-Feeder
zurückgebaut haben, sollten Sie das Etikett mit der Shutterless-Feeder-ID vorsichtig (!) wieder
entfernen.
Achten Sie beim Entfernen des Etiketts darauf, dass das „alte“ Etikett mit der S-Feeder-
Artikelnummer (00141098-01) erhalten bleibt.

5Introduction
By exchanging a conventional empty tape duct for a shutterless tape duct you can convert your 3x8 mm
S feeder into a 3x8 mm shutterless feeder in a few easy steps.
This following description outlines the individual steps for this conversion.
5.1 Scope of Delivery
The retrofitting kit for the shutterless feeder can be ordered with the following designation:
Retrofit kit tape feeder 3x8mm SL, Item No. 03053307-01
The retrofit kit contains:
1 completely assembled tape duct SL feeder
1 label marked 00141088-01, Item No. 00329723-01
NOTE:
Please note that the conversion should only be performed by specialist personnel who have
been trained to handle 3x8 mm S feeders.

Tools
You will need various screws to fasten the side plates and the tape duct. These will differ, depending on
the function state of the 3x8 mm feeder. For conversion of the feeder, you will also need some of the
following tools:
Other Equipment
After the conversion, the information which converts the feeder into a shutterless feeder or back into an
S feeder needs to be saved in the EEPROM of the feeder. The feeder is assigned a new feeder ID. To
do this, you need to connect the feeder to a PC, on which the software for reprogramming the EEPROM
is installed: Set-SL-ID.
To reprogram the EEPROM, you require the following:
1 PC with at least one free COM port
1 CD SW shutterless feeder, Item No. 00387197-01. This CD contains:
– The software Set-SL-ID for programming the feeder EEPROM
– The retrofit guide "Conversion to Shutterless Feeder" (documentation)
1 interface unit for S feeders, Item No. 00371397-01 (1)
(order option)
1 power supply unit for SIPLACE feeders, Item No. 03041682-01 (2)
