6.5 Changing the COM Port Setting

If you have NOT connected the interface unit to COM port 1, you will need to change the COM port

setting in Set-SL-ID accordingly. To do this, click on set COM-Port in the dialog box.

The following dialog box will be shown:

X Enter the number of the COM port to which the interface unit is connected.

X Click on the OK button.

X To check whether the connection to the feeders can be established properly, click on the

Get feedertype button.

NOTE:

In order to use this function, you require administrator rights.

7 Replacing the Tape Duct

7.1 Dismantling the Tape Duct

7.1.1 Removing the Right-Hand Side Plate

7.1.2 Removing the Front Protective Cover

NOTE:

Please note that various different screws need to be loosened before you can dismantle the tape

duct. Make sure that when you fit these parts together again, later on, all screws are replaced

in their original positions.

X Loosen the screws marked in the diagram (1-

12), on the right-hand side of the feeder.

X Remove the right-hand side plate.

X Loosen the two screws (1 and 2) fixing the

protective cover to the front of the feeder.

X Loosen the screws marked in the diagram (1–

3) on the right-hand side of the feeder.

X Loosen the screws marked in the diagram (1-

5) on the left-hand side of the feeder.

X Loosen the screw (1) on the top of the feeder.

X Disconnect the connector plug marked in the

diagram, from the lifting magnet.

NOTE:

Feeders of type 3x8mm S-tape for

0201/0402 components ("Golden

Feeder") do not feature this connector

plug.
