7.2 Fitting the Shutterless Tape Duct
7.2.1 Fixing the Flaps on the Shutterless Tape Duct
7.2.2 Fixing the Shutterless Tape Duct
X Push the flaps onto the shutterless tape duct,
from the front.
X Fix the flaps with the screws marked in the
diagram (1-3), on the left and right of the tape
duct.
X Make sure that the rubber foam seal is in the
position shown in the diagram.
This seal prevents components from falling down
the back and into the feeder.

X Carefully bend the top of the protective cover
slightly forwards.
X Tilt the shutterless tape duct and push it onto
the feeder, from the front.
NOTE:
If you have only loosened the top two
screws on the protective cover, to avoid
damaging the warranty seal, you will
need to slightly tip the protective cover
forwards, so that the tape duct can
slide onto the feeder.
X Fix the shutterless tape duct onto the front of
the feeder, with the screws shown in the
diagram (1), on the right and left of the feeder.
X Use a feeler gauge (0.25 mm) to check the
tape duct distance, on the left and right of the
feeder. The tape duct should be parallel to the
drive housing.
NOTE:
As in the case of feeders of type
3x8mm S-tape 0201/0402 component
("Golden Feeder"), you do not need to
establish a connection between the
tape duct and the board.

X Fix the shutterless tape duct onto the front of
the feeder, with the screws shown in the
diagram (2 and 3), on the right of the feeder.
X Fix the shutterless tape duct onto the front of
the feeder, with the screws shown in the
diagram (2-5), on the left of the feeder.
X Fix the shutterless tape duct to the top of the
feeder, with the screw (1).
Attention!
Tighten the screw carefully and not too tightly,
otherwise the aluminum thread could be
damaged.
X Use a feeler gauge (0.25 mm) to once again
check the tape duct distance, on the left and
right of the feeder. The tape duct should be
parallel to the drive housing.
If the distance is not correct, loosen the screw at
the top (1), those on the right (2 and 3) those on
the left (2-5) of the feeder and realign the tape
duct.
