Operate the cleaning blow valves.
1. Open the [Unit] - [I/O] screen.
2. Select "Head" from the Output drop-
down list. Select the address of the head
shaft blow (T003C000).
3. Press the [ON/OFF] button on the left
once. The address indication changes
from 0 to 1. The cleaning blow valve start
operating.

Check the cleaning blow condition.
1. Place finger under each head. Check
that the stronger air is exhausted from all
heads.
2. Press the [ON/OFF] button on the [Unit]
- [I/O] screen again. The address
indication changes from 1 to 0. The
cleaning blow valve is closed.
3. Check that the less air is exhausted
If the strength of the air exhausted from the
head does not change even operating the
cleaning blow valve, the cleaning blow
valve needs to be replaced. Replace it
referring to chapter 4, "3.3 Replacing a
cleaning blow valve".

CAUTION
Make sure to wear safety goggles as the exhausted air
blow may strike face.

Shut the blow valve OFF.
Press the [Blow] buttons of all heads on the
[Unit] - [Head] screen to stop the blow
operation.

Return the nozzles.
Return the nozzles to the original position if
they were removed from the head manually.

Press the [ON/OFF] button. Select an address.
Select a head.

4.4 Cleaning the inside of the spline shaft
Although depending on the air supply conditions and operating time, dust or grime adheres to the air path of
the spline shaft and may cause component pickup or mounting errors. The inside of the spline shaft should be
cleaned once every 3 months.

CAUTION
If spline shaft movement becomes unstable or abnormal noise is emitted from a spline shaft, then contact our sales
representative for assistance. Disassembly and cleaning of the spline shaft by the user will void the warranty.
4.4.1 Cleaning the inside of the spline shaft

Remove the nozzles from all heads.
With the nozzle station
1. Press the [Nozzle Change] button on the
[Unit] - [Head] screen.
2. Select "ALL" from the "Head Number" and
select "Store Nozzle" from the "Nozzle
Type" on the "Nozzle Change" screen.
3. Press the [OK] button to store all nozzles
in the nozzle station.

NOTE
If the machine is not equipped with a nozzle station,
remove all nozzles manually after opening the machine
safety cover. In case of the FNC nozzle, remove the
FNC nozzle ASSY by referring to "2.2.1 Removing FNC
nozzle assembly" in this Chapter.

Move the head unit forward.
1. Press the emergency stop button and
then open the machine safety cover.
2. Move the head unit forward.

Disconnect the air hose from each
spline shaft.
Disconnect the air hoses inserted into the
upper part of the spline shafts of each head.

Prepare the cleaning kit (KV8-
M8860-00X).
1. Pour IPA (isopropyl alcohol) into the
container of the cleaning kit.
2. Slide the stopper on the nozzle tube of
the cleaning kit so it is positioned 185 to
200mm away from the nozzle tip.
3. Place a container or a cloth under the
head to be cleaned to receive IPA.

Never use solvent other than IPA (isopropyl alcohol).

Clean the inside of each spline
shaft.
1. Insert the nozzle of the cleaning kit into
the spline shaft until the stopper on the
nozzle tube makes contact with the top
of the spline shaft.
2. Pour alcohol (IPA) into the spline shaft air
path to clean away dust and grime.

Blow air into the spline air path.
1. Insert the air hose into the fitting at the
top of the spline shaft to be cleaned.
2. Open the [Unit]-[Head] screen on the
operation display.
3. Press the [Blow] button on the operation
display to blow air into the spline air path
while placing cloth under the lower end
of the spline shaft.

CAUTION
Make sure to wear safety goggles as the exhaust
blowing air might strike face.

Repeat the above procedure.
Disconnect the air hose and repeat step 5
and then step 6.
When the IPA flowing out from the spline
shaft becomes clean, blow air through the
spline air path as the last cleaning step. Use
the same procedure to clean all other
heads.

Reconnect the air hoses back to
their original positions.
Return the nozzle to its original head if nozzle
was removed manually.
