Time of Replacement
Replace a cutter blade with a new one when the cutting quality has
deteriorated due to wear, cracks, etc.
Replacement Procedure
(1) Zero the feeder carriage and turn off the power to the machine.
(2) Remove Torque Bolts A (M5 × 12, Spring Washer) and B (M5 × 12,
Spring Washer) and detach the cutter cover.
(3) Remove Bolt C (2 pcs., M5 × 8, Spring Washer).
Pull the cutter lower blade forward to detach.
(4) Remove Bolt D (2 pcs., M5 × 16, Spring and Flat Washers).

1.4.8 Cleaning of Linear Scale/Encoder Head
Clean the linear scale and the encoder head every 3 months or after
the linear guide is lubricated to prevent the feeder carriage from mal-
functioning.
Cleaning Procedure
(1) Be sure to turn off the power breaker before cleaning work.
(2) Fold the head cleaning paper as follows.
Fig. 4A85
(3) Wet both surfaces of Sides A and B (head cleaning paper) adequately
with alcohol (absolute ethanol).
(4) Insert the head cleaning paper into the clearance beside the en-
coder head such that Side B (engaged between the upper and lower
claws of the scale holder) faces the encoder side.

(5) Pass the head cleaning paper through the clearance and slide it
right and left 10 to 20 times, keeping the effective length of the stoke.

(6) Pull out the head cleaning paper such that the folded part (folding
mark) should pass through the clearance between the encoder head
and the scale holder as shown below.
Fig. 4A88
(7) Follow Steps (2) through (6) again, using new head cleaning paper.
(8) After the cleaning, move the feeder carriage sideways and clean
the linear scale with a cotton swab soaked in alcohol (absolute etha-
nol).
(9) Power up the machine and perform “Reference Mark Detection Mode”
to check the feeder carriage movement.
