8.7.1 Shifted gear for tape drive
NOTICE
Spare parts kit
Due to the potential wear of plastic toothed wheels, it is recommended that, when you find it
necessary to replace one shifted gear or toothed wheel, you also replace the other one.
For this purpose, we recommend the spare parts kit "ETP gear set tape X
2x8mm“ [03095484-xx], which contains both toothed wheels with washers and circlips.

In the SmartFeeder 2x8mmX, the toothed wheels for the shifted gear tape drive are fitted in differ-
ent ways.
The drive for the left lane is fitted with the "toothed wheel 4 tape PA /X2x8“ [03070911-xx] with the
"threaded axis toothed wheel 4 tape / X2x8" [03079902-xx]. The "shifted gear 1 tape PA /
X2x8" [03070908-xx], and the "toothed wheel 4 tape PA /X2x8" for the right lane are fitted with
washer and circlip.
The spare parts kit "ETP gear set tape X 2x8mm" [03095484-xx] contains all the parts in the follow-
ing table, in the quantities listed.

8.7.1.1 Removing the shifted gear 1 tape left/right
► Place the feeder on a stable, level and clean sur-
face.
► Remove the left or right side covers (see 8.3.1
"Removing the Left Side Cover" [}135], 8.3.3
"Removing the Right Side Cover" [}136]).
► Remove the circlip and the washer.(1)
► Remove the toothed wheel.
► Clean the bearing shaft and surroundings.(2)
8.7.1.2 Fitting the shifted gear 1 left / right tape
► Place a small grease film on the shaft (Poly-
lubGLY801).
► Fit the new toothed wheel.(1)
► Fit the washer and circlip(1).
► Lightly grease the circlip.
► Lightly grease between the toothed wheel and
gear motor.
► Fasten the left or right side cover (see 8.3.2 "Fit-
ting the Left Side Cover" [}136], 8.3.4 "Fitting the
Right Side Cover" [}137]).
8.7.1.3 Removing the Toothed Wheel 4 Tape Left
► Place the feeder on a stable, level and clean sur-
face.
► Remove the left and right side covers as appro-
priate . (See 8.3.1 "Removing the Left Side
Cover" [}135], 8.3.3 "Removing the Right Side
Cover" [}136])
► Remove the gear stage 1 tape PA X2x8mm. (See
8.7.1.1 "Removing the shifted gear 1 tape left/
right" [}151])
► Loosen and remove the screw(1).
► Remove the toothed wheel(2).
► Clean the bearing shaft and surroundings(3).

8.7.1.4 Fitting the Toothed Wheel 4 Tape Left
► Place a small grease film on the shaft (Poly-
lubGLY801).
► Fit the new toothed wheel and tighten it with a Al-
len key to 0.35Nm(1).
► Refit the shifted gear 1 tape PA X2x8mm. (See
8.7.1.2 "Fitting the shifted gear 1 left / right
tape" [}151])
► Refit the left and right covers, if required. (See
8.3.2 "Fitting the Left Side Cover" [}136], 8.3.4
"Fitting the Right Side Cover" [}137])
NOTICE
► Ensure that no grease is on the threads.
8.7.1.5 Removing the Toothed Wheel 4 Tape Right
► Place the feeder on a stable, level and clean sur-
face.
► Remove the left and right side covers as appro-
priate . (See 8.3.1 "Removing the Left Side
Cover" [}135], 8.3.3 "Removing the Right Side
Cover" [}136])
► Remove the gear stage 1 tape PA X2x8mm. (See
8.7.1.1 "Removing the shifted gear 1 tape left/
right" [}151])
► Loosen and remove the circlip(1).
► Remove the washer(2).
► Remove the toothed wheel(3).
► Clean the bearing shaft and surroundings.
8.7.1.6 Fitting the Toothed Wheel 4 Tape Right
► Place a small grease film on the shaft (Poly-
lubGLY801).
► Fit the new toothed wheel(1).
► Replace the washer(2).
► Replace the circlip(3).
► Refit the shifted gear 1 tape PA X2x8mm. (See
8.7.1.2 "Fitting the shifted gear 1 left / right
tape" [}151])
► Refit the left and right covers, if required. (See
8.3.2 "Fitting the Left Side Cover" [}136], 8.3.4
"Fitting the Right Side Cover" [}137])
