7.4.3 Replacing Oil (Reduction Gear at the Insertion Drive Unit)
1.
1. Pull the hose from the hose clip to detach it.
2. Loosen the lock screw of the handle and remove the handwheel.
3. Loosen the screw and detach the head front cover.
4. Turn the plug of the reduction gear counterclockwise to remove it.

5. Turn the drain plug counterclockwise to remove it.
6. Put an oil pot under the drain cock. Raise the lever as shown in the
right to drain oil.
=REMARKS=
Be careful not to spill oil on the floor.
(The RG131 does not come with an oil pot. It should be prepared by the customer.)
7. After draining oil, leave the hose intact (drain cock open and drain plug removed) and pour oil from the oil
port, observing the end of the drain cock.
=REMARKS=
Leave the oil pot under the drain cock during oiling.

8. If oil nearly comes out, stop oiling once and turn the drain cock lever 90° as shown below. (This closes the
drain plug.)
9. Reattach the drain plug to the drain cock by turning it clockwise.
(Be sure to secure the plug in place. This prevents oil from spilling over even if the drain cock is opened
inadvertently.)
10. Press the hose against the hose clip to reattach.
11. Restart oiling.
Add oil from the oil port until oil level is above the center of the oil gauge while observing the oil gauge.
