How to clean up leakage
39.
1. Remove all ignition sources immediately.
2. For a small leak, collect the leaked grease by absorbing with sand or waste cloth, etc. Then wipe up
completely with a waste cloth.
3. For a large leak, evacuate the nearby area and rope off to prevent entry. Stop the leaked oil with sand, etc.
and lead to a safe place, then collect it in an empty container as much as possible.
4. For a leak on the sea, deploy oil booms to prevent spreading. Scoop up or soak up with absorbing mat.
Chemical adsorbent must comply with the technical requirements of the regulations of relevant authorities.
Preventive measures against second disaster
40.
1. In the event of a leak, report it to local authorities immediately to prevent fires or accidents from occurring
or spreading.
2. Remove all ignition sources immediately, and prepare the fire extinguishing agents.
Precautions in Handling and Storage
Handling
Technical countermeasures
41.
1. When handling more than the specified amount, handle the product in a location of manufacture or
warehouse that meets the standards required by the law.
2. Prevent contact with flames, sparks or hot objects and do not evaporate needlessly.
3. Take measures against static electricity and wear conductive clothing and boots.
4. Before repairing or modifying the machinery and equipment in which hazardous substance remains,
eliminate the substance completely in a safe place.
5. Burn in a safe place in a manner where there is no possibility of hazard to others or damage to properties.
A guard must be placed.
6. Wear appropriate safety gear to prevent contact with skin or eyes.
7. Wear appropriate safety gear to prevent contact with skin or eyes.
8. Keep containers tightly closed.
Precaution
Vapors generated from petroleum product often stay in the air because vapor is heavier than air. It is,
therefore, necessary to ventilate the workplace and to keep away from flames.
Safety handling precaution
42.
1. Handle at room temperature. Avoid entry of moisture or foreign substances.
2. Avoid contact with halogens, strong acids, alkaline materials or oxidizers.
Storage
Appropriate storing condition
43.
1. Store in a well-ventilated place where not exposed to direct sunlight.
2. Label as a hazardous product.
3. Avoid contact with heat, sparks, flames and buildup of static electricity.
Appropriate technical countermeasures
Electric appliances used in the storage place should be explosion-proof and need to be grounded.
Precaution
Avoid contact with or storing in the same place as halogens, strong acids, alkaline materials or oxidizers.
Safe packaging container material
44.
1. Do not pressurize empty containers.
2. Do not weld, heat, drill or cut containers. Residue can catch fire with an explosion.

Disposal Consideration
45.
1. Business owners should dispose of industrial wastes by themselves, or entrust the disposal to the
specialists approved by the governor or to the local authorities responsible.
2. Do not dump into any sewers, on ground, or into any body of water.
3. Burn in an incinerator before disposing of in a landfill. Burnt residue must be below the criteria stipulated in
the law on waste disposal and cleaning.
4. Burn in a safe place in a manner where there is no possibility of hazard to others or damage to properties.
A guard must be placed.
