1 Introduction
This document describes the SECS interface version 505.xx provided on the SIPLACE.
The SEMI Equipment Communication Standard (SECS) is published by Semiconductor
Equipment and Materials International (SEMI). It defines a computer to computer
communications interface between a unit of factory Equipment and a Host Computer.
This Equipment complies to the SECS-II standard, all SECS-II message used in GEM are
implemented. The SIPLACE complies to the following versions of standards:
E5-1994 (SECS-II)
SEMI Document #2758, Line 1 Item #1 (The Year 2000 issue)

2012037 – 2012040 (PickUpErrorsLocX) Additional to a new Process Program, the PCB
has to reach the processing conveyor, for a data item reset.
1.2 Changes from Host Interface Manual V503.01
A significant change since Gem 503.01 is support for the new SIPLACE HF machine.
This machine is available with a 12-nozzle or 6-nozzle revolver head or with a TwinHead.
All data from the new TwinHead is reported in the same way as the data from the
revolver heads, i.e. from the point of view of the GEM HOST, there is no real difference
between the individual placement heads. Thus, the 12-nozzle revolver head, the 6-nozzle
revolver head and the TwinHead are handled in exactly the same way, the only
difference being that the heads have 12, 6 or 2 segments. Thus, 12, 6 or 2 elements exist
in the data structures. In version 503 of GEM, list elements that were not needed were
empty. In contrast, in version 504, list elements that are not required are omitted.
As a result of this, variable names that contain the abbreviation 'REV' for revolver head
must be renamed. Variable numbers, content and structure, however, remain unchanged.

1.4 SECS-II Clarifications
The SIPLACE uses the following SECS-II conventions:
1.4.1 Data Format Types
Where the Standards permit a choice of data item types, the choice has been made as
described in section „Message Detail“.
For outgoing messages, the Equipment always sends Data Items of the exact format
shown. For some incoming messages, the Equipment „forgives“ minor host errors. For
example, the Equipment may accept a U1 Data Item where a U2 format was expected.
We recommend the Host attempt to use the formats shown.
1.4.2 Data Item Length Bytes
For messages sent by the Equipment, the number of length bytes in Data Items is always
the minimum required to contain the Data Item length.
