1.2 System Requirements
SIPLACE Explorer V2.4 provides various installation variants for the different components: 1
– Factory Layout Central Installation (CI)
– Factory Layout Distributed Installation (DI)
– Single Line Layout
We recommend that you use one of these installation variants for your system. For a detailed de-
scription, please see Section “Standard Installation of SIPLACE Explorer” on page 17. 1
1.2.1 Factory Layout - SIPLACE Explorer Server
1.2.1.1 Hardware
We recommend using an Econel 100. If your system uses other hardware, this hardware must
meet the following requirements: 1
– 3.2 GHz processor
–2 GB RAM
– 160 GB available hard-disk space
– DVD ROM drive
If your system uses hardware with low performance data, you can expect reduced system perfor-
mance for SIPLACE Explorer. 1
1.2.1.2 Software
– System environment - one of the following versions:
– Windows Vista
– Windows 2003 server with SP1 or SP2
– Database - one of the following versions:
– Microsoft SQL 2000 with SP4
– SQL Server 2005 with SP1 or SP2
– Java Runtime Environment 1.6,
included on the Support Media DVD
– Apache Tomcat v.5.5 web server,
included on the Support Media DVD

included on the Support Media DVD

– MS Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1, included on the Support Media DVD
– MS Internet Explorer 7.0, installed with the Windows Vista installation
– Acrobat Reader 7.0
included on the Support Media DVD
1.2.2 Single Line Layout - Line Server
1.2.2.1 Hardware

included on the Support Media DVD

– OIS 5.0, SIS 5.0, SIPLACE Pro 5.0
– OIS 4.1, SIS 4.1, SIPLACE Pro 4.1
– OIS 4.0, SIS 4.0, SIPLACE Pro 4.0
– OIS 3.1, SIS 3.1, SIPLACE Pro 3.2
The following versions are supported but if problems should occur, you will need to update these
versions to those shown above. 1
– OIS2.4 SP1, SIS 1.2 SP1, SIPLACE Pro 2.1 SP2
SIPLACE Explorer V2.4 supports data from the following station software versions: 1
