4 New features of station software 505.05
4.1 Revision of the Forced Setup Verification
The forced setup verification at the SIPLACE placement machine can be activated via SIPLACE Setup
Center. The forced setup verification monitors the verification status of individual tracks. Non-verified
tracks are disabled to force setup verification.
Forced setup verification is carried out with a connection to the station and requires successful setup
verification before production. This is implemented as follows: once an order or a packaging unit
changeover has been downloaded, the machine deactivates all divisions in which there are packaging
units for which no setup verification data has been received.
This means the line operator needs to successfully verify all the necessary components/packaging
units for the product before production can begin.
A detailed description can be found in the "Installation Manual SIPLACE Setup Center 3.0", item no.
00195642-xx.
4.1.1 Requirements
The forced setup verification requires SIPLACE Pro as of Version 5.0 and SIPLACE Setup Center as of
Version 3.0.
4.2 Shutterless feeder – Teaching pickup position
In some cases the PCB camera cannot reach the component pickup position in a shutterless feeder in
the middle. This can happen with shutterless feeder at the following machines and setup locations:
- S27
- HF/3, setup location 4
If the component pickup position is outside the traversing range but inside the traversing range inflated
by 5mm (field of view of the camera = 5mm), the PCB camera is moved to the nearest position and the
crosshairs are drawn excentric into the live image with an Offset in the direction of the component.
Otherwise an error message is displayed.
The functionality is supported on the following machines: S27 HM, HS50, HS60, HF, HF (as of A-001)
and HF/3.
4.2.1 Restrictions
On an S-27 HM machine it may be necessary to increase or decrease the y axis traversing range.
The functionality is not supported on S25 HM machines.

4.3 Whispering of fiducials
As of this station software the "whispering of fiducials" (i.e. the forwarding of fiducial data) is available
for the line (WDTL). The function can be activated in the machine options under "Forwarding of board
ink spot data". For a detailed description, please refer to the Online Help system for the station
software. The requirements and restrictions are the same as described in the "
Whispering of ink spots"
section.
Note:
In the WDTL and WDTM of fiducials mode, the fiducial measurement is performed before the
ink spot measurement (automatically switched).
4.3.1 Requirements
The functionality requires SIPLACE Pro as of Version 5.0.
4.4 Integration of the "Repair placement of hoisted components"
Special Design
As of this software version it is possible to perform a repair placement for components that are still
attached to the nozzle (hoisted components) after a placement cycle. For this option, a component
sensor must be used (SIPLACE Pro requirement).
Components that are to be measured with the component sensor are not considered to be placed until
a component sensor measurement makes sure, that no components are attached to the nozzle after
placement trial. However, if components should still be attached to the nozzle, they will be rejected and
a repair placement will be performed later for the placement position concerned. The “3530 Warning:
Nozzle is deactivated“ error message is displayed.
The function can be activated or deactivated with the "Repair place component" button in the machine
options.
If the component cannot be rejected, the segment will be deactivated. Deactivated nozzles can
automatically be replaced, if the "Change deactivated nozzles" button ist activated in the machine
options.
If a job is changed, the deactivated nozzles are detected and as far as possible automatically replaced
or the "15520 Automatic nozzle change is not possible" error message is displayed.

4.4.1 Rejecting hoisted components
If the component sensor measurement finds out that a component is still attached to the nozzle after
placement operation, the system attempts to reject the component. A component sensor measurement
rechecks the component rejection.
- If an error is detected, the placement operation is interrupted with a fatal error.
- If a component is detected with the component sensor, the segment concerned is deactivated.
- If the component sensor measurement does not detect any component still attached to the nozzle, a
vacuum check is additionally performed. If a bad vacuum difference should be detected (delta too
small between vacuum open/closed), the segment will be deactivated as well.
4.4.2 Deactivating and activating segments
The software treats a deactivated segment like a segment without nozzle and it will not be used for
placement anymore.
A nozzle is deactivated if the component sensor detects a component after placement and this
component cannot be rejected.
- This component sensor measurement is performed for all components (that are accordingly
configured in SIPLACE Pro) before pickup.
- The measurement is also performed for components whose size and availability have to be checked
before placement, if no further component shall be picked up with this nozzle after placement.
The target and actual states of the nozzle configuration are displayed in the individual functions.
In this way, the deactivated segments may be identified. The nozzles concerned have to be replaced at
the head and activated by confirming the nozzle configuration.
Note:
If a segment is deactivated, a warning lamp flashes to display this state. This flashlight signal
will be overwritten by other lamp states that might follow. Starting to place a PCB will reactivate
the flashlight signal.
The placement performance decreases with deactivated segments.
If the PCB cannot be completely placed due to the deactivation of a segment, the machine
stops with a track empty error.
4.4.3 Automatic change of deactivated nozzles
The nozzle configuration is checked at each start of a PCB processing. Thereby, deactivated nozzles
are detected and dropped into the reject box.
Deactivated nozzles can automatically be replaced, if the "Change deactivated nozzles" button ist
activated in the machine options. New nozzles are picked up automatically as long as the same type is
available in the nozzle changer. After a height reference run, the placement process continues again.
If no further nozzles are available, a nozzle configuration error occurs and the "15520 Automatic nozzle
change is not possible" error message is displayed.
