5.22 Freely definable configuration of the nozzle changer for the Twin
Head
As of version 505.xx of the software, it is possible to specify any magazine configurations for the
Twin Head nozzle changer. The predefined configurations (3/1 or 5/2 or 8/4) no longer apply. The
maximum number of magazines is limited to 12.
5.22.1 Restrictions
The Twin Head nozzle changer is not supported at the locations 4 und 2.
5.23 Recovery placement
The "Recovery Placement" function is used to continue placement of any boards still in the conveyor
of the machine after placement has been interrupted as a result of the machine coming to a
standstill after a power failure or a serious machine error.
During placement, the data for the boards located in the conveyor of the machine is automatically
stored. When the machine is restarted after a power failure or after being switched off, the operator
is asked whether assembly of the boards in the machine should be resumed. If this is confirmed, the
boards will continue to be placed (Recovery Placement).
5.23.1 Requirements
In Version 505.03 the following requirements have been added to the recovery placement (RP)
feature.
1. Configuration of recovery placement in SITEST
The recovery placement function can be activated and deactivated in a configuration dialog
(regardless of the existence of the recovery placement license):
SITEST main view –> Settings –> Recovery placement
When activating the function, you can specify the directory for the recovery placement data in
the Windows directory selection dialog.
2. Display of the status of the recovery placement data directory (SIPLACE GUI)
When recovery placement is activated (and a recovery placement license exists), the status
of the recovery placement data directory is indicated by a new icon in the main view of the
SIPLACE GUI (the status indicates whether or not data can be written to the directory).

In Version 505.03 SP1 the following requirements have been added to the recovery placement (RP)
feature.
1. External drive for storing data
There is an additional note for recovery placement. If an external drive is used to store data,
proper network access must be ensured during initialization. This is done in a separate
configuration file and with an entry in the Startup folder which has to be created manually.
You will find further details on this in the description of the auto-recovery function. The files
required are located in the following folder: C:\SR\Tools\RecoveryPlacement.
5.23.2 Restrictions
- It is not possible to detect whether some boards have not been assembled completely if the
operator removes or exchanges boards while the machine is at a standstill.
- Recovery placement is not possible in conjunction with fine calibration.
- Recovery placement should not be used in conjunction with the traceability option, as it is no
longer possible to guarantee that the components used in production can be traced.
- Recovery placement and "whispering" do not work together.

5.24 Correct position (online editing, first version)
Fiducial positions or pickup positions can be changed directly on the station as required.
If placement is aborted due to a fiducial error during position recognition, the "Correct position"
function can be used to move exactly to the position of the fiducial which was not recognized during
fatal error handling. When the operator calls the "Correct position" function, the PCB camera is
automatically positioned on the fiducial which has not been recognized. If the operator now switches
the view to the PCB camera, he can use the cursor keys to position the crosshair precisely on the
fiducial position.
If the checkbox With automatic position recognition is checked in the "Correct position" dialog
box, the corrected fiducial position is re-measured when position recognition is carried out again. If
this is not successful, the position which has been taught is taken.
If the checkbox With automatic position recognition is unchecked, the position of the corrected
fiducial is taken over directly.
After closing the dialog box, the operator must restart position recognition.
An incorrect pickup position can be corrected before placement or if a "track empty" error occurs. To
do this, the operator selects the appropriate entry in the "Setup" or "Empty tracks" view, calls the
"Correct position" function, switches the view to the PCB camera, corrects the pickup position with
the cursor keys and finally accepts the corrected pickup position with "Accept".
5.24.1 Restrictions
- Fiducial positions and pickup positions which have been corrected at the station are not taken
over by the programming system. They only apply until the setup is changed. The operator must
enter the data on the corrected position in the programming system manually if necessary.
- If position recognition errors occur as a result of badly positioned boards, the operator must
measure all the fiducials which have not been recognized individually. The procedure described
above must therefore be performed again for every fiducial which is not recognized.
- Once a pickup position or fiducial position has been taught and acknowledged by the operator, it
cannot be reversed. If necessary, these must be corrected by teaching them again.
- Online-Editing can not be used for pick up positions on SIPLACE S25 machines. The LP vision
camera can not scan the pick up positions because the restricted y-travel profile.
