2.5 Handling Flammable Materials
The following applies to dryers and systems in which flammable materials
are processed:
All requirements in accordance with DIN EN 1539 „Dryers and ovens, in
which flammable substances are released“ must be adhered to for techni-
cal applications which are implemented with the system.
The design basis set forth in the BGG 909 standard must be adhered to
ovens and dryers for coating materials (VBG24).
2.6 Recommendations for the use of chemical cleaning agents
Please use only alcohol-free, non-flammable or flame-retardant agents for
cleaning the soldering oven.
Warning!
Rehm Thermal Systems assumes no liability for direct or consequential
damages which result from noncompliance with the specifications included
in this standard.
If these regulations are not adhered to, authorization to operate the system
is rendered null and void.
Note!
Before closing the oven, it is essential to check that no cleaning agent con-
tainers (bottles, tins etc.) have been left in the oven chamber!

2.7 Important Note Regarding Operation Safety
The following points must be adhered to in order to assure operating
safety:
Those working on and with the system must be adequately qualified, in-
structed and authorised.
The system owner must ensure that no unauthorised personnel have ac-
cess to the system.
The system owner must ensure that those operating and working at the
system wear suitable work clothing (no wearing of loosely-fitting sleeves,
wearing of a hairnet to bundle long hair, ...)
The plant may only be set up and serviced by pertinently trained and au-
thorised specialist staff.
The system owner must ensure that those working on the system wear ap-
propriate personal protective equipment (such as safety goggles and pro-
tective gloves, and a breathing mask as required).
The plant's keys to cabinets, including the electrical switchgear cabinet,
must be stored such that only staff authorised to work in the particular ar-
eas of the plant have access.
The service key for the key switch on the control panel must be stored
where it will be accessible to qualified and authorised specialist service
staff only.
Work on electrical circuits and electrical system parts may only be per-
formed by authorised electrical specialists.
Use only suitable tools.
Processes in the plant may generate toxic or flammable vapours. Provide
adequate ventilation.
The specific storage regulations for the material used must be observed.
Defects will pose a fire hazard. Always therefore have a CO
2
fire extin-
guisher close at hand.
The protective devices shall not be modified. In particular, circuit breakers
may not be bypassed or protective devices removed.
Modifications of any kind are prohibited unless their effect on the overall
functionality of the plant is fully known.
Operational safety of the plant cannot be guaranteed unless these oper-
ating instructions are adhered to and the plant is used exclusively as de-
signed for.
Take note of your country's specific safety regulations!
Warning!
Despite all of the safety measures provided by the manufacturer, incorrect
operation of the system may result in bodily injury (e.g. due to hot
components) and/or significant property damage. Safe operation of the
system is only assured if it is properly operated by qualified personnel in
consideration of all safety precautions!

The owner of the plant shall be obligated to immediately inform the man-
ufacturer in writing should he identify significant danger situations during
operation of the plant, in order to allow the manufacturer to take action to-
wards reducing the potential hazards.
Absolutely request a Rehm Thermal Systems service technician should
you need to make changes to the plant for which you have no adequately
trained staff. Rehm Thermal Systems shall reject all claims for damages
or subsequent damages on the plant caused by improper changes!
