5.2.2.3 Component Sensor

The component sensor is installed in the
pickup-placement position on the C&P20 P
Head.
●
The sensor is fixed to the head with two
screws (2).
1. Downwards (A) or upwards (B) movement

beam is interrupted (A) or has been
released again (B)
Component Sensor Functions
●
The component sensor determines the
component and nozzle height during the
placement process.
●
The component sensor signal is directly
linked to the measurement signal of the Z
Axis incremental encoder for recording the
position.

Retract unit Functions
●
The retract unit is installed on the Z Axis
and is responsible for protecting the Z Axis
from damage by moving it into a safe
position in the case of unexpected events
e.g. power cuts or machine shutdown.
●
The retract unit is fixed with two screws
and can be easily replaced during service
work.

5.2.2.5 Star Carrier

The DP control board is plugged into the motherboard.
●
The motherboard is located behind the DP control boards and supplies the data for
positioning and controlling.
●
Two screws fix the complete DP drive unit from the inside to the star frame.
Note: The Star carrier is not spare part.

The star motor is a brushless three-phase drive with integrated measurement system.
●
The motor shaft has a hollow design. This enables vacuum or compressed air to be supplied
to the hold circuit of the 20 segments.
●
The star motor is not a spare part.

The DP drive is responsible for turning the nozzles into the correct pickup position and the
component into the correct placement angle.
●
Vacuum and air blast to the nozzle are provided via the motor shaft of the DP Axis.
●
The complete DP drive with linear guidance can be replaced during service work.

The star consists of the star frame on which all 20 DP drives are mounted, the motherboard
and the collector ring.
