5.5.3.1 Greasing and Cleaning the X Axis Guide Bearing
Greasing and Cleaning the X Axis Guide Bearing
Fill the "grease gun with hose for Y axis" (volume applied approx. 0.4 g) [00374563-xx] with
Klüberplex BEM 34-132 (see also "6.1 Filling the Grease Gun" [ 77]).
Move the X-axis head plate approx. 30 cm. This distributes the grease.
Repeat the pressing and moving process one more time for both guide carriages. The correct
amount of grease has then been applied.
The total amount of grease per guide carriage is 0.8 cm³ (= 0.8 g = 2 squeezes)!
Use a lint-free cloth to remove any excess grease from on and around the grease nipple.
Repeat these steps for each gantry.
Clean the linear guides.
(See "5.5.3.2 Cleaning the Linear Guides of the X Axis" [ ➙ 61])
CAUTION!
Grease all grease nipples in proper style
On the X-axis on the bottom side of the gantry, there are
two guide carriages with one lubrication nipple each.
These lubrication nipples supply grease to all roller tracks
in the guide carriage.
Do not apply too little or too much grease as this may lead
to rough running of the guide carriage and damage as a
consequence.
Position the hose of the grease gun straight onto the
lubrication nipple.
Apply one squeeze of the grease gun (0.4 cm³ per
squeeze).
NOTICE!
If the grease emerges from the grease nipple, then the
bearing could already be full.
If the lubrication no longer lets lubricant through, if it no
longer seals properly or is damaged, replace it
(DIN71412-B-M6 [03036943-xx]).
Repeat these steps for both guide carriages of the
gantry.
