Part 1
The Machine
1. Machine Overview
Machine Movement During Operation
The movement of the machine when operation is started is explained below.
1. Board check
When the START button is pressed, a check is
made of whether a board is present on the
conveyor. If a board is not present, a request
signal is sent to the previous machine in the
line, and if a board is available, board loading
is performed as detailed in step 2. If a board
is already present on the conveyor, nozzle
change is performed as detailed in step 3.
2. Panel loading
When the panel available signal is received
from the previous machine in the line, the in-
conveyor shuttle moves to the panel loading
position and the panel is loaded onto the
shuttle. The shuttle moves the panel to the
main conveyor position. The panel travels
from the shuttle along the main conveyor
until it reaches the stopper. The panel is then
clamped in position, raising it to production
height.
3. Nozzle change
Nozzle change is performed as required for
the production program in use. Nozzles (or
mechanical chucks) are selected from those
available in the nozzle station.
4. Mark reading
When nozle change is complete, the skip and
fiducial marks on the board are now
inspected by the mark camera attached to the
placing head.
