Before using Factory Tools
1. About this manual
This manual describes how to install the Factory Tools and how to use each application of the Factory Tools.
For detailed information on how to create and edit board data or borad data using the Factory Tools, please
read the "Factory Tools User's Manual for Creating borad Data".
For the operating methods for YAMAHA surface mounters, dispensers and solder paste printers, refer to their
operation manuals that come with the machine shipped to you.
2. Factory Tools application configuration
Factory Tools is comprised of multiple units of application software that can be selected for specific editing
tasks and functions.
Factory Tools
Board Explorer
Manage line, machine registration and board data.
Board Editor
Use this Board Editor when editing board data or creating production data.
Feeder Viewer
Use the Feeder Viewer to check feeder setups or edit the setting.
Board data Distribution
Make the board data to severl machines production.
Database Editor
Use the Database Editor to edit parts or mark database.
P (Programming) - Tool
Optimizer
Make the board data to severl machines production.
Common parts setup optimizer
This optional program optimizes the setups for shared parts.
ASCII converter
This optional program converts CAD data or data created by other machines into YGX format data.
M (Monitoring) - Tool
Remote control
•Thestatusofalineormachinecanbemonitoredfromaremotelocation,andmanagedandoperated.
•Transmissionorreceptionofboarddataordatabasecanbeperformed.
S (Setup) - Tool
Setup Navi
A USB barcode reader can be connected to the computer for offline setup.
In P-Tool, there is an AOI version besides the regular version.
P-Tool AOI
It has functions to create data for Inspector.
“Board Explorer”,“Board Editor”,“Database Editor” and “ASCII converter” are available.
“Feeder Viewer”,“Optimizer” and “Common parts setup optimizer” is not available.

3. Checking the system configuration
Factory Tools runs on Microsoft™ Windows . The following hardware specifications are necessary for the
operation.
3.1 Necessary hardware

CPU Above-mentiond OS must operate. ( Recommendation: Dual 2GHz,Single 3GHz)

1024 by 768 dots or higher ( Recommendation: 1280 by 1024 dots or higher), with 256 or
more colors
Memory 8GB or more 3GB or more 4GB or more
Hard disk Free space of 30GB or more
CD-ROM drive Quad-speed or higher
* Ultimate Edition or more is necessary for changing the display language besides the language of OS.

CAUTION
• USB port is needed to attach a hardware key for each Tool.
• USB port is needed to attach a barcode reader for S-Tool.

Using Microsoft™ Excel (2000/2003/2007/2010)
Microsoft™ Excel is required to use the following functions of Factory Tools.
