5 New Functions in Setup Center 2.3
5.1 Support of the station software
Station software 604.01 for forced verification
5.2 Support of programming system SIPLACE Pro
SIPLACE Pro 5.0
5.3 Supported of the 2D barcode scanner
Purpose
Setup Center supports the scanning of 2D barcodes with the "Symbol MC70" scanner. A 2D barcode
may contain more information than a 1D barcode. This enables scanning several packaging unit
information at the same time.
Function
The "Symbol MC70" has following features:
1D and 2D barcode scanner
Data communication with 2,4 GHz and 5GHz WLAN
Installed operating system Microsoft® Windows™ Mobile
Setup Center – Mobile Scanner Application
5.4 Firmware Download for Docking Station
Purpose
Setup Center can update the Firmware for Docking Station.
Function
In the dialog of the firmware download for docking station you can choose the firmware version, which
shall be downloaded for the docking station. You can also add new firmware files to the firmware list and
install them. The firmware download lasts for approximately 1-2 minutes.
5.5 Automatic configuration for Dragon Scanner
Purpose
This option enables the automatic configuration of scanner and base station.
Function:
The scanners must be configured with Setup Center before usage. The necessary configuration can
then be transferred with Setup Center to the barcode scanners.

6.1 Rüstkontrolle
Purpose
Setup Center supports setup verification at the line with the equipment of the C, S-, F-, HS-, HF- and X-
Series.
Function
When SIPLACE Pro downloads a recipe, Setup Center automatically indicates the current setup in the
Setup Center GUI. The data recorded through Setup Center (e.g. during setup verification or refill check)
are sent to the station during forced setup verification. In this way Component Level Indicator and
Traceability can be supported. During online setup verification, the component level indicator needs to
be enabled and the threshold values need to be active.
While unforced setup verification takes place, the machine does not receive any setup verification data
and can produce immediately.
6.2 Offline Setup Verification
Purpose
Setup Center supports setup verification in the pre-setup area with the help of the docking station.
Function
Offline setup verification allows you to prepare setups in advance for production of boards and in parallel
with the current productions. This significantly reduces setup change times. If a setup is prepared in the
pre-setup area, the setup verification data are transferred to the production line by simply logging in the
changeover table.
A docking station is required additionally for the pre-setup of X-tables. A CAN-Bus – PCI Card is
necessary to connect the docking station. This card enables you to connect a maximum of 8 docking
stations. The card supports 2 CAN-Busses so that 4 docking stations can be connected to each bus. A
maximum of one CAN-Bus – PCI Card per computer is possible.
6.3 Changeover Table Management
Purpose
Setup Center supports changeover table management in both online and Offline Verification.
Function
Changeover table management enables you to set up tables, place them in the line and to monitor where
they are in the production process. If Online Verification is used in connection with Offline Verification,
on the same setup, changeover table management will reduce setup times, since setup verification only
needs to be performed once (offline) for each table. Tables can also be moved between different setups.
In this case, Setup Center creates a delta inventory, which records the components which remain the
same. The operator only needs to set up those component charges, which are different/ not yet present.
ATTENTION:
Machines of the C-Series have no interface for setup verification data and therefore support only
unforced setup verification.
