1.3 Safety Precautions
.
Danger!
Processes in the plant may generate toxic or flammable vapours.
Volatile, highly flammable substances may create explosive atmospheres
when mixing with ambient air in certain ratios.
Warning!
Aggressive chemical substances may irritate the respiratory tract and skin.
Wear suitable protective gloves and goggles as required.
Danger!
The plant operates on electrical power. When operating electrical equip-
ment, certain parts will necessarily be at high voltage.
Work on electrical equipment and the switchgear cabinet may only be car-
ried out by qualified technicians in cognisance of regulations and guidelines
applicable on site.
Isolate the plant from mains supply before working on electrical compo-
nents!
Switch off the master switch and secure against accidental switch-on by
means of a padlock.
Danger!
The supply leads to the master switch will remain live!
They are identified inside the switch cabinet by orange shrouded wiring.
Electric shock when touching live wiring.
Before carrying out work in this area, the supply leads must be isolated on
the operator side.
Warning!
Do not use the master switch to power off the machine. First switch the ma-
chine off from the operator console, and wait until it has shut down com-
pletely and all motors have stopped.
Electrical charges can still be stored in the system even after it is turned off
from the master switch.
Once you have switched off the system, wait at least six minutes before
touching live connectors or undoing connectors. Check to make sure that
the system is de-energised.
