2.1. Safety Information

contains important information and warnings. Ignoring these warnings can result in damage to the
machine and product, serious injury or death. Keep copies of this manual for reference and
training.
Notice
Information provided in this Safety section is not intended to
supersede rules and regulations governing health and safety in
the local area or at the installation site.
Local rules and practices govern whenever there is a conflict
between the information in this section and local information.
Safety is an integral focus of the Edison printer and the software systems that operate it. For
custom control software, check software documentation for safety systems in place.
2.2. Operator Safety
All operators must be properly trained for the equipment they use and for which they are
responsible. All new operators should expect and receive detailed instructions from experienced
personnel. Never leave a new operator unsupervised.
Proper training for the Edison printer includes an emphasis on safety procedures and safety
devices. Frequent and regular safety meetings within your organization are an excellent means to
make safety a priority. Safety meetings should keep new and experienced operators up to date on
necessary safety practices.
Notice
Operator shift-changes present a vital opportunity for preventing
accidents. Make a habit of thoroughly discussing any changes
or problems encountered before turning the station over to the
next shift.
2.2.1. Operator Do’s and Don’ts
