EM Aware ESD Monitors
3M EM Aware ESD monitors detect and measure ESD events
(electrostatic discharges), as well as static voltage and ionization
parameters (depending on the model). EM Aware is a comprehensive
diagnostics and troubleshooting tool for your ESD environment, a
continuous monitor for critical ESD process and an instrument to qualify
your tools for handling ESD-sensitive devices. EM Aware ESD Monitors
are essential in establishing and maintaining a safe ESD environment.
EM Aware Starter Kits include a number of selected EM Aware Monitors
with antennae, data acquisition system, Windows-based software,
worldwide power adapter, and all cables and interconnects.

The EM Aware Starter Kits include everything you need for
comprehensive electrostatic discharge (ESD) events, EMI, electrostatic
field, and ionization monitoring in your environment. Quickly connect
several EM Aware monitors to a computer and immediately start
collecting ESD/EMI data. Each kit contains a number of selected EM
Aware monitors, remote antenna, a USB data acquisition system,
Windows-based software, a worldwide power adapter and all necessary
cables and interconnects.

3M Octopus ESD Monitoring System is designed for complete integration
into such tools as IC handlers, pick-and-place machines, wafer and
reticle handlers and others. Full communication with the tool enables
automatic separation of exposed components and reporting of ESD
statistics. It offers unparalleled patented technology to detect and
measure strength of electrostatic discharges (ESD events). Integrated
into the tool, Octopus can in real time identify the exposure of each
individual component to ESD and facilitate automatic separation of
exposed components so that they are not shipped to the customer.

WS Aware Dual Workstation Monitors
The 3M WS Aware Workstation Monitor provides continuous monitoring
of all grounding parameters on a workbench or in a tool in full compliance
with ANSI 6.1 and ANSI/ESDA - S20.20 requirements, as well as high-
frequency noise (EMI) on ground. For operators, WS Aware Monitors
utilize dual wrist straps for a continuous resistivity check of human body
connection and patented advanced DSP technology for reliable monitoring
utilizing ultra-low control voltage. Each operator’s body voltage is also
continuously monitored. Patented optional Big Brother terminals allow
the monitor to alarm when an operator approaches static-sensitive
components, but does not plug in his or her wrist strap properly.
WS Aware CTC061 provides continuous monitoring for two metal
grounds (such as tools) and for two “soft” grounds (such as dissipative
mats, surfaces and parts made of dissipative plastics), or four metal
grounds (CTC062). It provides monitoring of EMI on metal grounds with
programmable alarm thresholds. As electromagnetic interference (EMI)
is rapidly becoming a significant factor in equipment failures, this
patented feature helps to provide proper operation of your equipment.
