The interim final version of
the test method is circulated to
the committee working on the
method and the Test Methods
Subcommittee (7-11) for a 30
day review period.
Comments Compiled (4)
Test method comments or votes
of approval are compiled and
forwarded on to the committee
working on the test method.
Method Re-Circulated/Typeset (4)
After reviewing the comments,
the committee working on the
test method chooses whether to
re-circulate the test method or
submit it to IPC liaison for typeset.
Test Method Submitted for Final Sign-Off (4)
The IPC liaison submits the typeset version

committee working on the method, as
well as the chair of the Test Methods
Subcommittee (7-11).
Test Method Approved (5)
The committee chairs sign-off on
the test method, approving it for
inclusion in the next IPC-TM-650
update.

Introduction
This
manual
establishes
uniform
methods
for
testing
electronic
and
electrical
parts
including
basic
environmental,
physical
and
electrical
tests.
These
tests
were
developed
to
support
IRC
standards
and
specifications.
The
tests
described
herein
are
not
to
be
interpreted
as
an
exact
and
conclusive
representation
of
actual
service
opera¬
tion
in
any
one
geographic
location,
since
it
is
known
that
the
only
true
test
for
operation
in
a
specific
location
is
an
actual
service
test
at
that
point.
The
specified
test
conditions
for
a
test
method
are
those,
which
are
obtainable
in
the
laboratory
and
result
in
reproducible
results.
No
attempt
has
been
made
to
include
pass/fail
criteria
in
the
test
methods.
This
information
is
found
in
the
individual
speci¬
fications
and
standards
that
reference
the
specific
test
method.

All
equipment
used
for
performing
or
supporting
the
tests
shall
be
calibrated
before
being
put
into
service.
The
test
facility
shall
have
an
established
program
and
procedure
for
the
regular
calibration
of
its
equipment.
A
calibration
program
should
include
a
system
for
selecting,
using,
calibrating,
checking,
controlling
and
maintaining
mea¬
surement
standards,
reference
materials
used
as
measure¬
ment
standards
and
measuring
and
test
equipment
used
to
perform
tests
described
in
this
manual.
