X/Y Beam Section
This section is equipped with a mechanism by which the placement heads
can be shifted.
By shifting the placement
heads in the X and Y directions, the vacuum
nozzles can be attached or detached and some components can be picked and
placed on the PCB.
Automatic Recovery Function
When this function is
used and a component shortage error is detected, the
machine is not stopped and a message is issued as machine information,
prompting the operator to replenish components.
The machine continues to
place the components other than the missing ones
(component-shortage detected ones). After it has placed all components
(excludingthemissingones),itstopsrunningwithoutdischargingthePCB.
When component shortage errors, etc., are detected in different feeders at a
short interval, the loss time can be reduced because the components in short
can be replenished collectively.
Warm Start
When a normal restart
operation is performed after the continuous operation
has become impossible during component placement, the PCB in the middle
of process is discharged to the output machine, producing a defective PCB.
In this case, the reset operations must be performed through this "Warm
Start" procedure.
Cover Section
This mechanism works to
protect the operator from any danger.
The machine is provided
with covers (located over the beams), safety covers
(located around the frame), and storage covers (located on the lower area of
both conveyor ends). The covers and safety covers are prepared to avoid any
danger (to keep an object including part of body and cloths out of the moving
mechanisms inside the machine) during automatic operation.
Inside the storage covers, some electrical parts are stored.
Camera Offset
This offset data is
used to adjust the deviations based on the design
dimensions between the positioning reference point (coordinates X
(horizontal), Y (vertical) and Z (theta)) and the center of the camera.
Angle Z is an
angle in the PCB positioning and camera coordinates systems.

PCB Positioning Section
This section is provided
with a mechanism by which the PCB sent from the
PCB input section is positioned.
PEC Recognition Function
Innormalcases,two
ducialmarksareputonaPCBandthecoordinatedata
and positional deviations are detected by the PEC recognition camera.
This function automatically corrects
placement positions of components
according to the recognized positional deviations.
There are three kinds of PEC recognition functions - "Global", "Image",
and "Local".The global recognition function covers all positional deviations
over one PCB and is used to correct them. The image recognition function
is used to correct positional deviations for each individual patterns. The
local recognition function is used to correct positional deviations for each
component placement point.
PEC Recognition Section
Each beam is equipped
with a PEC recognition camera and a light source for
illumination, making a pair with the placement head.
ThePECrecognitioncamera
isusedtodetecttheducialmarksonaPCB
andtheamountofthepositionaldeviationfromtheducialmarkcoordinate
data is calculated to automatically correct the position of a component to be
placed.
PCB Transfer Conveyor Section
The PCB transfer mechanism
works to transfer the PCB (sent from the input
machine) to the area just before the PCB positioning section and carries out
the component-placed PCB to the output machine.
Pickup Position Teaching Function
This function is used
to correct the component pickup position through
manual alignment operation.
The pickup rate might
be improved by this function.
Automatic Feeder Axis Adjustment Function
When a component is
picked up by the vacuum nozzle and shifted from the
correct pick-up position, this function uses the recognition system to correct
the deviations for accurate component placement.
By feeding the recognized
amount of correction back to the pickup position,
thepickuppositioncanalsobebroughtclosetothespeciedone.
Optimization of Pickup and Placement Order
As for each placement
point in the pattern program, the pickup and
placement order can be determined.
