Issue 03/2010 2.4 Prerequisites and Restrictions for the CPP Placement Head
71
2.4 Prerequisites and Restrictions for the CPP
Placement Head
– The CPP head can only be used from SW 702 and onwards. In this manual, it is assumed that
the appropriate SW is already installed. In this context S- feeder modules are no longer sup-
ported.
– Machines older than serial number B326 are not CPP capable.
– Machines between the serial numbers B326 and B599 can only be upgraded by the SIPLACE
service Munich in the course of a project.
– On machines between the serial numbers B600 and B751 the component trolley docking unit
or the tape control unit must be reconfigured with CAN nodes. Neither nozzle station nor nozzle
changer are working with the 1 wire control. Please observe the assembly instructions for
"CAN Node X-Series SW70x" [00196678-xx] and order the upgrade kit "CAN Nodes for CPP
Head" [03079950-xx] in addition.
– The reconfiguration kit does not include a head camera. One of the following cameras must be
ordered.
The camera type is added during the configuration query of the Head Reconfiguration Kit. The
C&P component camera (type 29) 27x27 digital RK [03018637-xx] is set as default. 2
– [03018637-xx] C&P component camera (type) 27x27 digital RK (default)
– [00119783-xx] CPP head camera (01005)
– In a two gantry placement area, the CPP heads must be fitted on the same height. Both CPP
heads must therefore be fitted in high or low position.
– If, in a two gantry placement area, the CPP head is used together with a TwinHead, the CPP
must only be fitted in the high position.
– If the CPP head is fitted in the high position in placement area 1, it must be fitted in the same
position in placement area 2.
– Due to the turned gantry on X4I machines, the CPP head cannot reach the first 6 feeder tracks
at location 2 and 4. In addition, only 4 of the 6 nozzle changer magazines can be reached here.
Only one nozzle changer is possible per location.
– Please note that there is a danger of crashing when using third party feeder modules.
– It is not possible to use a vacuum pump together with a CPP head. The head principle com-
pulsively requires a compressed air supply for the time being.
– During the placement of a board, no nozzle change is carried out at the CPP head (this applies
to all modes: C&P, P&P and Mixed).
– In conjunction with a stationary camera, the CPP head must always be fitted in the high and
the camera in the low position.
– When using a CPP head, no magazines of the C&P20A head must be present on the nozzle
changer. This is being monitored by the SW.
