6.13 Line engineer profile
Line engineers should normally have attended the SIPLACE basic training course and carry out the following
tasks:
Acting as a contact for the operators
Keeping the machine log book
Monitoring and carrying out maintenance at the specified intervals
Monitoring the workplace to ensure that it is clean and safe
Monitoring conformity with EGB regulations
Carrying out quality control
Following up and reporting fault messages
Checking that errors have been eliminated
Providing all materials for the line in good time, such as
– PCBs,
– Adhesive cartridges,
– Solder paste,
– Components,
– Feeder modules, stick steel magazines, etc.
Setting up the automatic placement machines for a new production batch
Checking the settings of the feeder modules
Checking the management data
Asking the responsible programmers to modify programs, as required
Ensuring a smooth flow of information between the individual groups
