Carrier tape end:

1. Carrier tape end is protruding from the feeder

2. Cut carrier tape exactly between two pockets in the

middle of the hole, as shown in picture. All pockets

must be full to end of carrier tape

Note: Carrier tape splicing must occur with enough lead

tape length to prevent the machine to be stopped.

Preparation of new carrier tape

New carrier tape:

1. Peel cover tape back approximately the width of one

component pocket

2. Cut carrier tape exactly between two pockets in the

middle of the hole, as shown in picture. All pockets

must be full to end of carrier tape beginning

Note: Be careful not to cut the cover tape to allow cover

tape overlap onto old cover tape!

Splicing the carrier tape

1. Place the rivet on the holding pins, prongs facing up!

Note: Holding pins!

2. Place the end of the carrier tape over half of the rivet

and close the lock

3. Place beginning of the carrier tape over the other half

of the rivet and lock it in place. The cover tape must

lay on top of the end of the old carrier tape Note:

4. Crimp the splicing tool to the first set point
