About leaf spring positioning tool
When installing the HM head nozzle leaf springs, use of the optional purchase part "leaf spring attachment tool
(P/N:KGS-M8810-00X)" makes it possible to install the leaf springs more uniformly.
n
NOTE
If the leaf spring positioning tool is provided, it is recommended to attach leaf springs with the tool.

Remove the nozzle.
1. Press the emergency stop button and then open the machine safety cover.
2. If the machine is carriage type, detach the carriage to easily access to the head.
3. Place a square cloth under the head unit.
4. Remove the nozzle with the target leaf spring manually.

NOTE
When the machine is equipped with a nozzle station,
store all nozzles to the nozzle station.

Remove the leaf springs.
Remove the mounting screw with a precision
Phillips screwdriver while holding the shaft.
Then remove the leaf springs to be replaced.

CAUTION
Remove only the screw of leaf springs.

Attach leaf springs temporarily.
Loosen the leaf spring mounting screw 1/4
turn from its fully closed position to attach
the leaf springs temporarily.

Insert the tool.
Insert the tool into the nozzle shaft so that the
groove on the leaf spring positioning tool
matches to the convex part of the leaf spring.
Insert the tool all the way to the upper portion.

Mount the leaf springs.
With the convex part of the leaf springs and
the groove on the tool held with finger,
tighten the leaf spring mounting screw with
a precision Phillips screwdriver to mount the
leaf springs.

Check leaf spring attachment status.
Check that the groove on the tool is tightly in
contact with the convex part of the leaf spring.

Detach the tool.

Check nozzle attachment status.
1. Attach and detach the nozzle manually
several times to check that no looseness
is found.
2. Remove the square cloth.

NOTE
Return the removed nozzles to the original positions of
the head. If removed nozzles from the nozzle station
(option), return them to the original storage positions.

When the machine is equipped with a nozzle station,
store all nozzles to the nozzle station.

Detach the leaf springs.
Use a hex wrench (1.3) to remove the
mounting bolt and the lead spring.

CAUTION
Only remove the bolt of leaf springs.

Attach the new leaf spring.
Tighten the mounting bolt with a hex wrench
(1.5) while pushing the leaf springs against
the upper portion.

CAUTION
Always attach the leaf springs so that they become
parallel.

Attach the nozzle.

Check that the nozzle is held
securely.
1. Check that there is no gap between the
leaf springs and the nozzle arm assembly.
2. Attempt detaching and attaching the
nozzle several times to check that there
is no looseness.
3. Remove the square cloth.

NOTE
Return the removed nozzles to the original positions of
the head. If removed nozzles from the nozzle station
(option), return them to the original storage positions.

2.2 FM head: Replacing roller lock

Remove the nozzle.
1. Press the emergency stop button and then open the machine safety cover.
2. If the machine is carriage type, detach the carriage to easily access to the head.
3. Place a square cloth under the head unit.
4. Remove the target nozzle manually.

Detach the nozzle arm assembly.
1. Remove 2 bolts mounting the nozzle arm
assembly with hex wrench (1.5).
2. Remove the nozzle arm assembly by
pulling it down.

CAUTION
The O-rings are on the shaft. So, be careful not to
damage the O-ring when pulling out the nozzle arm
assembly.

Replace the nozzle arm assembly.

Check the attached condition.
1. Check that there is no clearance
between the leaf spring and roller.
2. Detach/attach the nozzle several times
to check that there is no looseness.
3. Remove the square cloth.

NOTE
Return the removed nozzles to the original positions of
the head. If removed nozzles from the nozzle station
(option), return them to the original storage positions.

Replacing the roller only
The following describes how to replace only the roller
after the nozzle arm assembly has been removed.
1
Remove the circlip.
Push the circlip of the roller shaft with a
precision flat-head screwdriver to remove it.

Remove the roller.
Pull out the shaft and remove the roller.
3
Attach a new roller.
Insert the shaft into a new roller and nozzle
arm assembly.
4
Attach the circlip.
Attach the circlip with a flat-head precision
screwdriver.
