If a RV12-DLM1 head ramains installed on the actual machine and the vacuum generator is
there still seated on metal brackets (instead of rubber-metal vibration dampers), the four damp-
ers must also be installed here during the course of the retrofitting. In this case you will also
need one enclosed package/DLM1_S23, Item no. 00345365-03 (see Section 2.3).
NOTE:
When installing the RV6-DLM1 head during the process of upgrade S-23 HM to SW V 502.xx, for
all steps of work you will ONLY need the retrofitting instructions, Item no. 00192377-01, because
they contain the exchange of the head AND nozzle changer including all subsequent steps.

Approx. 1 hr. per RV6-DLM1 head with nozzle changer RV6 Standard for mech. installation
Approx. 5 hr. per RV6 head and nozzle changer RV6 Standard for configuration, adjusting
dynamics, calibrating head, component camera and nozzle changer, RV mapping, preci-
sion calibration.
NOTE:
The 6-segment revolver head is ALSO named 6-nozzle head (on the user interface).

Å Preparation and Installation of the 6-segment head (RV6-DLM1) on gantry 1 and/or 2 depend-
ing on the configuration you wish.
Å Installation of the pertinent nozzle changer:
In case of NO MTC is installed:
Install the new nozzle changer RV6 Standard on the pertinent gantry.
In case of an MTC is installed:
Install the nozzle changer RV6 MTC, as described in the “Retrofitting Instructions MTC on
S-25 HM”, Item no. 00192792-02 (G + E)
.
Å Check on the nozzle changer RV12 Standard: The nozzle wiper (bar) with 2 fiducials must be
installed
(see Fig. 2.4.8). The fiducials are already on the nozzle changer RV6 Standard (from
the retrofit kit).

DANGER
Only the Siemens service engineer is permitted to perform the retrofitting.
The Safety Instructions in chapter "Operational Safety" in the User Manual and in the Service
Manual S-25 HM take precedence.
The machines SIPLACE S-25 HM are powered by
120V / 208V +/- 5% (US version) or 3 x 230V/400V +/-5%, 50/ 60 Hz line voltage.
Portions of the system are therefore conducting dangerous electricity, inside the machine, even
while the master switch is turned off.
After you have properly carried out the shut-down of the Windows operating system NT:
BEFORE all work of retrofitting the machine must be turned OFF at the main switch and isolated
from the mains. In addition, the compressed air supply must be turned off at the main valve of the
compressed air unit in the machine base and the compressed air lines must be bled by actuating
the needle valve at the compressed air unit (particularly due to the risk of injury - posed by residual
air - at the pneumatic cutter after undocking/removing the component changeover table).
Obey the applicable accident prevention regulations, DIN standards and special safety codes of
your country at all times. DIN EN 60204 must be adhered to during all work inside the machine
base.
Follow the instructions regarding residual voltages in Chapter "Operational Safety".
Comply with regulations on ESDs (see Chapter "Operational Safety")
While installing the option RV6 -DLM1 head you are working in the gantry positioning range.
During the whole upgrade process secure the machine conscientiously against other personnel
and prevent it from being turned back on without authorization, as described in the User Manual
in the chapter "Locking the Machine...".
In additional, there is a higher risk of accident when working with the SITEST program.
The SITEST program is only to be started by personnel who are authorized to do so.
For the work with the SITEST program the component changeover table and the MTC (incl. com-
ponent table) must be moved in and correctly connected.
