6.5.5 Functions of the Star Axis
General functions
Calibration tool position
During the adjustment of the P-gain of the
z-axis, the active gantry approaches the
calibration tool position, and then moves
the z-axis to the calibration tool pocket in
the continuous run mode.
Step star axis
This function is used to index the star.
Clicking on the button causes the star to be
advanced by one segment. The positions of
the individual segments are represented
graphically on the screen.
Starts the continuous run for
adjusting the speed of the Star
axis and opens the Tacho
adjustment dialog box for the
display of the values determined.
Waiting time [msec]
In the data entry field enter the desired value
that must lie within the specified value range.

Turning station
Swivel in
The swivel-in action of the dp drive is
activated. The sleeve is thereby turned.
Swivel out
The swivel-out action of the dp drive is
activated. The sleeve is thereby turned.
Initialize stepper motor
Swivels the dp station in and out.
Holding circuit
Vacuum in holding circuit
Checks the entire vacuum in the holding
circuit.The value measured is displayed
above the button.
Close nozzles
Closes the vacuum of the nozzles in the
holding circuit.

Segment
Indicates the segment number.
Open [mbar]
Displays the value in mbar that was determined
by the vacuum test in the placement and pick-
up circuit, with the valve open.
Closed [mbar]
Displays the value in mbar that was determined
by the vacuum test in the placement and pick-
up circuit, with the valve closed.

Vacuum
On/Off
Turns on/off the vacuum in the placement circuit and/or pick-
up circuit.
Air kiss
On/Off
Turns on/off the air kiss in the placement circuit and/or pick-
up circuit.
Initialize stepper motor
Moves the stepper motor into a defined reference. The valve
plunger is subsequently positioned at 'air kiss'.
Test vacuum
Tests the vacuum for the nozzle currently set up in the
placement and pick-up circuit and displays - above the button
- the values measured with the valve both in open and closed
condition.
Measure vacuum
Checks the total value of the vacuum for the entire circuit.
The value measured is displayed above the button.
Step star axis
This function is used to index the
star. Every time you click on the
button the star is advanced by
one segment. The positions of the
individual segments are displayed
graphically on the screen.
