11 Option Air Dryer
11.1 Retrofit Air Dryer Option
11.1.1 Introduction
This modification instruction describes how to install the complete Air Dryer Option on a SIPLACE
Material Tower at customer side.
Spare part number: 03124552-01
Before starting the maintenance, read the Safety instructions carefully.
11.1.2 Tools, Material and Scheduling
For an effective and efficient maintenance, the following resources have to be provided:
Required Tools / Auxiliary Material / Spare parts
Tools: Side cutter (big and small)
Flat wrench 14, 19 and 33
Scissors
Pincer
Allen Key Set
Drilling machine
Thread cutter
Auxiliary Material: Cable Ties
Teflon tape

Spare parts:

-01, RETROFIT Air Dryer including:
• Membrane dryer
• Air Flow Limiter
• 4mm, 8mm and 15mm hose
• Possibly: Connection panel (if old panel
version without holes mounted)
• Through hole connectors for air
supplies/exhaustion
• Magnetic valve
• Control cable for magnetic valve
• Drain cover
• Sealing belts
• Humidity sensor
Time needed
Schedule around 2 hours for this task.
11.1.3 Prerequisites
For a safe and efficient maintenance, the following prerequisites have to be fulfilled:
Personnel:
• Any work with or at the equipment must be carried out by skilled and
trained personnel in accordance with the locally applicable
regulations.
• Inform all involved persons regarding the currently running
maintenance works.
Machine loading:
•
NO item must be unloaded.
Machine operating
condition:
• Shut down
Main electrical
power:
• Equipment disconnected from power supply system. The Main Switch
(switched off) locked by means of a padlock to secure the main switch
against unintentional switching on.
Compressed air /
Nitrogen (if used):
• Equipment disconnected from compressed air or nitrogen supply.
Access:
• Open the left side door of the machine, where the electrical unit and
the air dryer is located.

11.1.4 Exchange steps
Cover removal
Remove the foll
owing covers to retrofit the air
dryer:
• Tall cover left side of the portal
• Small cover below the portal
• Open both maintenance doors
Step 1
Position of the connection plate is below the
portal.
It might be required to remove the few lower
shelves to gain comfortable access to the plate.
