11.1.4 Exchange steps
Cover removal
Remove the foll
owing covers to retrofit the air
dryer:
• Tall cover left side of the portal
• Small cover below the portal
• Open both maintenance doors
Step 1
Position of the connection plate is below the
portal.
It might be required to remove the few lower
shelves to gain comfortable access to the plate.

• NT-1004897, 4mm bulkhead union
• 69.999.00021, 15mm elbow union
• 69.999.00022, 15mm bulkhead union
• 40.050.06725, silencer
Prepare the required parts. There are two
possibilities in this case:
• If the connection plate on this storage unit is
a new one, all parts will be loose.
• If the new connection plate is in the
delivery, all parts are already mounted and
the following intermediate steps can be
skipped
. Just replace the new plate with the
old one and go to step 2.
Wrap Teflon tape around the thread of the
15mm bulkhead union (approx. 5 times).
Remove all three caps covering the holes by
pressing them through.

Built in all bulkhead unions as shown on the
picture.
The silencer is mounted into the outer side of
the 15mm bulkhead union.
The 4mm outer connection stays empty.
The orientation of the elbow union must be as
shown on the picture.
Step 2
Before mounting the air dryer (1), to meet the
production requirement, remove or add the Air
Flow Limiter.
Remove the silencer (2)
By using the Allen ke
y loosen and remove or
screw in and tighten the Air Flow Limiter (3)
Re
-mount the silencer (2)
