12 Service Door Monitoring
12.1 Retrofit Service Door Monitoring
12.1.1 Introduction
This instruction describes how to install the Service Door Monitoring on a SIPLACE Material Tower
at customer site.
Spare part number: RFNS-150196-1
Before starting the installation, read the Safety instructions carefully.

12.1.2 Tools, Material and Scheduling
For an effective and efficient maintenance, the following resources have to be provided:

Tools: Side cutter
Double ladder (small and large)
Wire stripper
Crimping pliers for end sleeves
Long-nose pliers
Set of Allen keys
Set of Phillips screwdrivers
Drilling machine
Metal drill 3 mm
Countersink (diameter max. 10 mm / 90°)
Center punch
Ruler
Pencil
Carpet knife
Vacuum cleaner
Auxiliary Material: Cable Ties
Thread-lock paint red (e.g. ZK1003 EFDEZELL-Lackfarbe)
Wire end ferrules for double wire

Time needed
Schedule around 4 hours for this task.
12.1.3 Prerequisites
For a safe and efficient maintenance, the following prerequisites have to be fulfilled:
Personnel:
• Any work with or at the equipment must be carried out by skilled and
trained personnel in accordance with the locally applicable regulations.
• Inform all involved persons regarding the currently running
maintenance works.
Machine loading:
• NO item must be unloaded, but the mounting work on a fully loaded
machine can be very cumbersome. Best working condition would be if
the top positions of stack 1 / 3 /5 are unloaded.
Machine operating
condition:
• Shut down
Main electrical
power:
• Equipment disconnected from power supply system. The Main Switch
(switched off) locked by means of a padlock to secure the main switch
against unintentional switching on.
Compressed air /
Nitrogen (if used):
• Equipment disconnected from compressed air or nitrogen supply.
Material Tower
software version:
• 20.0 or higher.
Access:
• Open both service doors.
