Loosen the rigid coupling by loosening the
upper screw. Now it can be pulled down to
connect with the motor axis. Make sure the gap
between the two axes is in the middle of the
coupling so that each part o
f the coupling
clamps one shaft. Fasten both screws using a
torque key adjusted on 2.5 Newton
Step 8
Remove all tools and close the doors of the machine.
Plug in the power connector and switch on the machine.
Initialize the machine by means of the software.

In the software, in
System - Storage
Devices/Units
select the appropriate machine in
the table and press
Load.
In tab
Calibration calibrate the X axis and follow
the instructions given by the software.
4.2 X Belt
4.2.1 Introduction
This modification instruction describes how to change the two belts of the X Axis on SIPLACE
Material Tower.

Before starting the maintenance, read the Sa

After this modification all stacks must be recalibrated. Therefore, SIPLACE Material Tower
must be emptied in advance by means of the software.
4.2.2 Tools, Material and Scheduling
For an effective and efficient maintenance, the following resources have to be provided:

Tools: Allen key nr. 3 and 5
Wrench Nr. 10
Torque key nr. 3 (torque range min-max: 1 N - 10 N)
Metal shears
Belt tension meter (frequency range min-max: 20 Hz - 450 Hz), e.g. Sonic Tension
Meter / Gates Corporation Denver, Colorado
Measuring tape 5m
Auxiliary
Material:
Loctite Threadlocker Blue 242
Spare parts:

Time needed
Schedule around 20 to 30 minutes for this task.
4.2.3 Prerequisites
For a safe and efficient maintenance, the following prerequisites have to be fulfilled:
Personnel:
• Any work with or at the equipment must be carried out by skilled and
trained personnel in accordance with the locally applicable
regulations.
• Inform all involved persons regarding the currently running
maintenance works.
Machine loading:
•
All stored items must be unloaded in advance.
Machine operating
condition:
• Shut down
Main electrical
power:
• Equipment disconnected from power supply system. The Main Switch
(switched off) locked by means of a padlock to secure the main switch
against unintentional switching on.
Compressed air /
Nitrogen (if used):
• Equipment disconnected from compressed air or nitrogen supply.
Access:
• Open both doors of the machine.
