If particularly hazardous situations are identified while the machine is in use, the machine
owner must immediately notify the manufacturer in writing so that appropriate action can be
taken to reduce the potential danger.
WARNING
Safe operation of the device
Despite all safety precautions provided by the manufacturer, failure to use the system as
prescribed can result in severe injury and/or considerable damage to the equipment. Safe
operation of the device requires correct usage by qualified staff with observance of all warn-
ings. Some work requires training that goes beyond the scope of this manual.
2.1.2.2 Safety of operators and other persons
Device operators may only carry out work for which they have been adequately trained and
with which they are totally familiar!
Never open a cover if you are not totally familiar with the use and functioning of the machine!
Do not open the covers during operation unless you are told to do so in this manual or in the
station software dialog!
For your own safety, wear work clothes that conform to the guidelines of the professional
association, i.e. no wide sleeves etc.
Reduce the risks by not wearing scarves, chains or ties at your work post.
People with long hair must wear a protective head covering.

Tension
The device is electrically driven. When electrical devices are in use, certain parts carry dan-
gerous voltage levels!
Before performing any work to parts which conduct electricity, switch the machine off
at the main switch and disconnect the power between the device and the machine.
ð There is a risk of death, severe injury and/or considerable damage to equipment if
these instructions are not followed.
2.1.2.3 Safety of plant and equipment
Never make changes, however minor, unless you are totally aware of the effect they will have
on the overall functioning of the device and system!
The device must always be set up, retooled and maintained by appropriately trained person-
nel.
Do not make modifications to the safety equipment. In particular, NEVER deactivate circuit-
breakers or remove safety devices.
2.1.3 Staff qualifications and training
Qualified and adequately trained personnel means that these people are familiar with the setting
up, operation and maintenance of the device and are suitably qualified, e.g.:
Have been trained, instructed or authorized to switch on and off, isolate, earth and identify
electrical circuits and system components in accordance with normal safety standards.
Have been trained or instructed in the upkeep and use of appropriate safety equipment in
accordance with normal safety standards.
Have received first aid training.

2.1.4 Danger of crushing
WARNING
Danger of crushing
There is danger of severe injury to hands and fingers when reaching into areas of the LDU
with moving parts.
Observe correct handling and the safety instructions.
Do not reach into areas with moving parts while the LDU is running.
In particular, be careful at the following positions of the LDU:
(1) Travel range of the dipping plate.
(2) Travel range of the squeegee.
2.1.5 Transport safety information
CAUTION
Danger of tilting or falling down
The LDU 2 X can tilt or fall down when handled incorrectly during transport.
Always carry the LDU2X with both hands holding it as upright and horizontal as pos-
sible.

2.2 Warning labels
The warning labels are made of soft PVC film, and are abrasion-proof, light-fast and resistant to
water and weathering. The design of the warning labels complies with the requirements of
ISO3864‑2 und ANSIZ535.4.

Safe operation of the LDU depends absolutely on the operator being familiar
with the user manual and safety instructions and putting them into effect.
Warning label - hazardous substances
Health risk
The flux and cleaning agents used may contain substances which are haz-
ardous to your personal health. Always wear your personal protective equip-
ment and observe the safety data sheet of the relevant flux or cleaning
agent.
