5.8.2 Clusters without Fiducials
An error message is output at the station if the host computer sends a cluster to the station but the cluster
does not contain all the required fiducials. The station displays the status for the operator to teach in the
missing fiducials in the fiducial manipulator.
The missing fiducials are displayed in a dialog (separated according to conveyor in the case of a dual
conveyor) when the operator calls up the fiducial manipulator In the fiducial manipulator, it is possible to
move to the fiducial position defined in the cluster.
5.8.3 Position Recognition before Ink Spot Recognition
Two separate methods for measuring fiducials and ink spots are supported as of version 407.01.
This makes it possible to move to ink spots without prior position recognition. In future, the sequence " Ink
spot recognition before position recognition" will be the default. In particular in the case of small ink spots, it
may still be necessary to carry out position recognition before ink spot recognition. When teaching an ink
spot, however, the user has the option of deactivating the Position recognition before ink spot recognition
option, provided that the dimensions of the ink spot do not make it necessary to first carry out position
recognition.
5.8.4 Component Level Indicator
Level monitoring is an option with software version 407.01. It warns the operator in good time that feeder
tracks are approaching empty, so that there is enough time to refill them (splicing component tapes).
- Level monitoring is activated using a separate Installation - CD.
- Level monitoring can be selected using the Set-up view.
- For each feeder, a list displays the current stock of components, the remaining buffer time, the
component name, location, track, division and the status (active/inactive).
- The number of accesses is counted for each feeder. Following placement of components on a printed
circuit board, the component levels in the feeders are updated in the view.
- A track error warns the operator if the component levels or buffer times are less than adjustable
threshold values. Alternatively, the affected tracks are set to empty.
- The signal that the values are less than the threshold is issued using the signal lamp, a colored marking
in the Component level indicator view and by error messages.
- The tracks are identified using colors according to their status in the Component level indicator view:
Green: Sufficient components are available
Yellow: Component supply will soon be exhausted
Red: Track is set to empty due to the low component stock. Nothing more is collected from this track
until it is refilled.
- The operator can use the line computer (or local control) to specify the container sizes for the individual
feeders. The operator can use the station computer interface to activate/deactivate tracks, alter
component levels, set threshold values and alter the sorting sequence used in the list.

-
When tracks are refilled in the component level indicator dialog box, the container size is added to the
current component supply.
- A new container size can be entered manually in the "Supply and container" dialog box, or it can be
scanned in using the barcode reader. The track in question first has to be scanned using the barcode
reader, after which a barcode with an initial identifier and a following number must be read in. This
identifier can be set in the "Barcode ID Container size" function of the Main view -> Menu -> Settings ->
Configure GUI dialog. (Example: Setting QTY: Barcode QTY0002000: New container size 2000).
5.8.5 Feeder Position Recognition
Feeder position recognition is performed as soon as a new set-up is loaded and the set-up modification
generator has been confirmed. Feeders which are not recognized are displayed as track errors.
Feeder position recognition can be canceled or repeated.
All feeder fiducials are re-measured if feeder position recognition is repeated. A pick-up correction is only
performed for the recognized feeders in the event of a cancel.
5.8.6 Version Check
A version check between the machine controller and the station computer is performed when the machine is
started. If the versions are not the same:
a) an error message is output and
b) the machine does not continue its start-up (Æ additional installation required).
5.8.7 New "Multicolor" PCB Camera for F5HM
As of Version 407, it is possible to install the new "multicolor" PCB camera as an accessory on a SIPLACE
F5HM. The SIPLACE F5HM continues to be delivered with the old PCB camera.
The "multicolor" PCB camera is a flash camera and allows 4 different illumination settings.
5.8.8 Support for the 88 mm Tape Feeder
As of Version 407, the 88 mm tape feeder with line computer support can be set up on SIPLACE F
4
,
SIPLACE F
5
and SIPLACE F5HM machines. This requires the new table firmware B0V1030A.HEX, Version
003.10 (Tisch.hex), which is automatically installed on the machine controller when Version 407 is installed.

5.8.9 Vacuum Evaluation and Vacuum Sequences (V3 Topics)
The thresholds for vacuum evaluation (vakuum.ma) are no longer used as absolute values. The threshold is
calculated as a percentage of the vacuum values of the open and closed segment of each nozzle. This
means nozzle-related evaluation of the vacuum is achieved. Refer to the vacuum evaluation documentation
for more information.
5.8.10 ErrorLogger
To allow improved troubleshooting, the various error messages issued by the machine controller are passed
to the ErrorLogger. The log file thus created is evaluated using the Bugreporter and is used for further
problem analysis.
5.8.11 Head Reference Run
From version 407.01 onwards, the optimum position of the Z-axis in relation to the rocker is ascertained by a
second measurement. This considers the entry and exit of a segment from the rocker in the Z-axis (star axis
position +/- 2500 digits).
5.8.12 Top and Bottom PCB Barcode
To allow improved identification of the individual PCBs, Version 407.01 supports the PCB barcode on both
sides of the PCB. If two codes are read, the barcode on the top is always used for job monitoring. If a PCB
only has one barcode, the PCB can nevertheless be identified and components placed top and bottom.
The board is only assembled if, in the Barcode type allocation list on the line computer, the label side is
uniquely identified with "o" for the top the barcode or with "u" for the bottom the barcode. If "X" for no
information is entered, the board is passed through without being assembled.
