Software Version Description, Station Software Version 407.05 07/2008 Edition
The message "Action: Waiting till output conveyor empty" was not displayed after a fiducial had been
taught (and saved). This error occurred whenever the PCB could not move from the processing area to
the output conveyor (because the latter was occupied by another PCB). The station came to a standstill
without displaying a message indicating the error. The hourglass displayed on the monitor would not go
away, indicating an incomplete process. For this reason, the necessary status displays have been
permitted for the conveyor in set-up mode.
Error report 120826
When there is a drop in pressure during placement, the SIPLACE machine comes to a standstill, and the
error message "No compressed air" is displayed. As soon as the compressed air returns, placement can
be resumed after the start button is pressed. The fitted printed circuit board was then occasionally
passed on to the next machine although components may have been missing. The software has been
modified so that the affected printed circuit board is now stopped on the output conveyor in the
processing area, allowing a check to be carried out (notification window).
Error report 121770
If a nozzle was removed from the C&P head of a SIPLACE machine (except for an S15/F3) and then
picked up again immediately, a pick-up error occasionally occurred. The sleeve attempted to pick up a
nozzle from the 12- or 6-nozzle changer with the rotational axis turned by 90°. The error has been
corrected by a change to the "PPW_STD.MA" machine file.
Error report 123103
In C&P mapping, the clamping was not released on conveyor 2 on completion of the mapping run. The
error has been corrected.
Error report 123742
The container size was not scanned in by the barcode reader when the level monitoring option was set.
In order to correct this error, a change from version 502.01 has been adopted.
Error report 123796
After the PCB camera was replaced, it could not be calibrated because incorrect calibration factors were
entered for bx and by. The calibration factors are now entered correctly when the PCB camera is
reconfigured.
Error report 123813
When the height of the IC nozzle changer was calibrated, a superfluous height check was carried out.
This occasionally caused calibration to function incorrectly. The unnecessary height check has been
eliminated.
Error report 123869
In the "Teach PCB camera" menu (gantry, PCB camera functions) in SITEST, the wrong illumination
was switched on (blue selected, but white switched on). This has been corrected.
Error report 123901
Components were sometimes placed on the PCBs even when the PCB clamp was not working. No error
message appeared. The transport software now checks both Bero proximity switches when clamping a
PCB. As a result, this error is avoided.

Error report 123390
In the vacuum test, the vacuum value measured was compared with the threshold "min. Vakuumwert
Segment zu" (minimum vacuum value with the segment closed) from the "Vakuum.ma" machine file. If
the closed value was under this threshold, the following error message appeared erroneously: "2277
The difference between open and closed vacuum values is too small." In version 407.02, the error
message "2455 Vacuum value of segment too low with valve closed" is issued.
Error report 1-1MLCH
Incorrect parameter values in the "scanpara.ma" machine file. The values have been taken from the
technical information (ref. no. 10V05020).
Error report 1-1IHCG and Error report DH-E
High pick-up error rate (around every 3rd head cycle for segment 7) when special sequences were
programmed for the gantries. It sometimes happened that the hand of the feeder had closed before the
component could be picked up. The timing of the sequences has been optimized. This prevents the
hand of the feeder from being retracted and closing again too early before the Z-axis can move down.
Error report 1-2HH89
When the dip fluxing option was used, it occasionally happened that a component was not placed. This
error has been corrected in version 407.02.
Error report 123965
In the default machine data of version 407.01, a "Ratio -IC- Sensor" camera is now entered as the
default for a SIPLACE F
4
instead of the old IC camera. This camera replaced the old standard camera
and was then used in all new machines. The old camera therefore has to be configured in SITEST after
a new installation or reinstallation of SIPLACE.
Error report 120743
When the camera position was displayed (calibration of the IC head and camera in the "Calibrate entire
machine" menu), the current and old values were the same. The values are now displayed correctly.
Error report 123953
If you install the 407.01 software on the station computer, you can also enter the addresses for the
SIPLACE LAN via the installation menu. You cannot change the machine's IP addresses in this dialog
box. The addresses entered must agree with NT or RMOS. If you want to change the IP addresses, call
the Siemens Hotline.

6.10 Errors Corrected in Service Pack 2 of the 407.01 Software
Error report 123474
The output conveyor interface did not function as specified. With downstream transport modules it
sometimes happened that a printed circuit board continued to be transported from the output
conveyor although no release had been issued. The software has been adapted accordingly.
Error report 123859
Problems with the measurement of a QFP100 have been removed by FW 308 of the coplanarity
module.
Error report 123840
Correction of an error in data preparation for coplanarity measurement. When a number of
components were to be measured with coplanarity, errors occurred when the component moved
over the coplanarity module.
Error report 1-1EJ7P
If a triple feeder for 0201 components was placed on a SIPLACE F5HM (407.01 software, SP1),
only track 1 of the feeder was stepped forward to the pick-up position, although, when a component
was set up on track 2, the station moved to this position and attempted to pick up components. The
same error occurred when a component was set up on track 3 of the above feeder. The error has
been corrected in Service Pack 2.
Error report 17F-M
Individual balls of a BGA were displayed badly displaced on the ICOS screen. The error could occur
with BGAs that were larger than 32.5 mm and not completely covered with balls.
For fine calibration with the IC head, no values were displayed for the four angular groups for
machines with a 12-nozzle head.
Error report 123460
In the case of DLM1 heads, customers frequently complained of distorted raceways. The reasons
for this are the transition between the raceway and the Z-claw and incorrect zero point correction of
the Z-axis. In order to remove the problem for platform 1 machines as well, the solution was taken
from version 502.01 SP3.
Error report 1-2M5Z5
When the first PCB moved into the first SIPLACE machine after a lengthy waiting time (synchr. dual
conveyor), it sometimes happened that the input conveyor did not respond correctly to this PCB.
The problem has been analyzed and corrected.
Error report 1-1ZQA1
Problems when the PCB barcode was requested frequently. A timeout error often occurred when
the barcode was read.
