2.1 Various Functions
Direct Pickup
The placement heads of the main machine can pick up the components
directly from the pallet which was drawn out from the multi-layer tray
feeder. In addition, the pickup actions can be controlled nely.
Elevator/Pallet Drawing Speed Control
By setting parameters for the elevator speed and the transfer speed in the
component library data, it becomes possible to control the speed at which
the elevator should be moved upward or downward and the speed at
which the pallet should be drawn out to or pulled back from the traverse.
Therefore, the posture of the components being supplied can be kept stable.
Block
Allocation Function
Up to 9 different pieces of component allocation data can be set for one
pallet.
When small trays are handled, additional types of components can be
allocated by installing several trays, increasing the number of components
to be used.
Moreover, not only grid-type trays but also staggered-type ones can be
handled regarding them as parallel-bank-arranged ones (overlapped grid-
type trays), making it possible to make exible use of trays.
Magazine Batch Replacement
By replacing the current magazine with a magazine loaded with the
required components in advance, the replaced magazine makes it possible
for components to be changed collectively and swiftly after the setup
operation.

2.1 Various Functions
Pallet Alternate Function
The trays having the same type of components can be set on several steps
(pallets) in the spare magazines. Every time the machine gets empty of
components, it automatically selects another spare step which stores
the tray having the same type of components, making it possible for the
machine to perform the operation continuously.
By providing several steps with a group of components used frequently
among the component types, an interval of component supply can be
prolonged.
The order of the pallet alternate actions is based on the ascending order
(advancing from a smaller step No.) of the magazine step Nos.
Magazine
Alternate Function
The components required for the production model must be set fully
for both Magazines #1 and #2. When the magazine alternate function is
activated, the machine performs the automatic operation with either one of
the upper and lower magazines being connected.
The connected magazine
is automatically changed to the other one set automatically ready for use
right after the connected magazine gets empty of the components, making
it possible for the machine to perform the operation continuously. That is,
this function makes it possible to supply components from the trays while
the machine is running, reducing downtime of the machine for component
replenishment.

2.2 Outline of Actions
2.2 Outline of Actions
(1) A pallet is pulled out from the magazine stored in the elevator section
onto the traverse according to the pattern program data.
(2) The placement heads of the main machine pick up components from the
pallet that was pulled out onto the traverse.
(3) The images of the picked components (the components picked up by
the placement heads) are captured and recognized by the component
recognition cameras to detect the deviation in the pickup position.
The detected deviation is corrected and the components are placed
accurately on the specied positions.
When a pickup error or a recognition error is detected during the
component recognition, the machine performs the dischar
ge operation
of the rejected component.
(4) The pallet on the traverse is stored in the magazine of the elevator and
the subsequent pallet is pulled out onto the traverse according to the
pattern program data.
When the subsequently placed component originates from the same
pallet, the pallet stays on the traverse.
(5)
Steps (1) through (4) are repeated.
When the tray on the pallet (specied in the pattern program data)
becomes empty of components, the LED of the step No. button starts
ickering and the error message "Component Shortage Error" appears
on the operation monitor. In this case, reload the tray with components.
