►(5) Push the tape under the pickup window, until the beginning of the tape is against the transport
wheel, when the pickup window is closed.
►(6) Apply slight pressure to hold the tape against the transport wheel and press the green "Index" but-
ton (A). The tape will be automatically threaded in.
Briefly press the green button (A) several times, until the end of the cover tape which you pulled back
is in front of the removal edge.
►(7) Make sure that the tape perforations are firmly engaged with the transport wheel.

2.2.2.1 Inserting the Cover Tape in the Foil Removal
►(1) To release the pickup window, press the holddown at the front of the feeder.
►(2) Open the pickup window at the protruding hook.
►(3) Feed the cover tape upwards, through the pickup window and around the foil removal edge,
before closing the pickup window.
Make sure that the tape perforations are in the transport wheel before you close the pickup window.
Now lower the holddown to lock the pickup window into place.
►(4) Run the tape over the tape spring at the rear end of the feeder.
Make sure that the tape is run correctly between the guidance lugs of the tape spring.
CAUTION
Make sure that you remove the adhesive strip at the beginning of the cover tape on the new
tapes. The adhesive strip could otherwise damage the foil removal. The same applies to torn
splice points. Remove the adhesive strip here, before you feed the foil into the foil container.
Do not tear the foil as a stretched foil could lead to malfunctions at the foil removal point.

►(5) Fold the tape together in a V shape - with the adhesive side pointing inwards.
►(6) Hold the beginning of the foil from above, over the foil rocker, under the toothed wheel of the foil
removal point.
►(7) Press the yellow "Foil” button on the control unit.
The motor will run while you are pressing the button and while the foil rocker is not tensioned and
will draw the foil in. Hold the button pressed until the motor switches off automatically.
NOTICE
Make sure that the foil lies flat between the toothed wheels, that it has no folds and that it is not
pulled away to the sides of the toothed wheels.
CAUTION
(8) Once the tape and the cover tape are inserted, the holddown for the cover flap may not be
opened without first folding out the foil tensioner. Nonobservance of this will cause the tape to
be torn out of its perforations by the tension applied to the foil and it to be moved forward by
several pockets.
The result: component losses and possible malfunctions from loose components.
