5.3.7.3.1.2 General distribution list
The general distribution list reacts to notifications from all lines simultaneously, but is otherwise the
same as normal distribution lists.
5.3.7.3.2 Rule Action Editor E-Mail options
A list of email recipients can be associated to each notification rule. On matching rule patterns, if
the “Send E-Mail” checkbox is active, an email message is sent to each recipient listed in the
Recipients list. The Recipients list may contain distribution list names as defined in the email
distribution list editor as well as individual email addresses.
5.3.7.3.3 Rule Action Editor Comment Options
Any EDM rule contains an instruction to handle the comment dialog on the EDM Line on matching
patterns. The last matching rule whose comment option is not “Not specified” determines whether
to show the dialog and whether to provide predefined values for the comment fields.

As the rule actions define the conditions for sending email messages, line-based
recipient lists should be avoided.
Instead, use “All Lines”-based recipient lists to profit from the recipient list association to
the EDM rule actions.

5.3.8 Configuration Status Monitor
The Configuration Status tab gives some information about the status of the EDM Client
computers (upper pane) and their EDM applications (lower pane).
5.3.8.1 Changing the Configuration Server of one EDM Client
In order to make an EDM Server get its configuration set from another Configuration Server, these
steps are required:
1. Open the Configuration Status tab of the Configuration GUI on the old Configuration
Server and click the Update button.
2. For each EDM computer in the list of computers (you may select multiple lines at once),
open the context menu and select “Assign new configuration server”
3. In the text box, change the hostname part of the URI to match the new configuration server
4. On the new configuration server, type-in the appropriate settings for the EDM Client’s alias
and host name.
