Installing the X-axis scale
X Carefully insert the scale.
X Loosely tighten the eleven M2.5 x 5 hexagon socket-head screws with washers.
X Push the scale along the bars as far as the stop.
X Tighten the M2.5 x 5 hexagon socket-head screws equally on both sides, starting from the center of
the scale.
X Loosely fasten the X-axis incremental encoder with the two M3x8 hexagon socket-head screws.
X Use the feeler gauge to set the 0.4 mm gap between the incremental encoder and scale.
X Now tighten the two hexagon socket-head screws.
Settings
X Set and calibrate the C&P head and gantry axes using the SITEST program.
CAUTION:
X Do not touch the incremental tracks with bare fingers.

Scale adhesive device set S50 [00344862-01] containing the following:
Chisel, roughly 20 mm wide [00345526-01]
Multiflex pad A-VFN, red [00345527-01]
Protective gloves [00091001-01]
Wipes, Kimnet 6036, tear-resistant [00331395-01]
Adhesive device for Y scale [00344861-01]
Two guides
Double-sided adhesive strip
Cover strip (for the front of the scale) Pin (4 mm) for fixing the starting position
Set of DIN 911 Allen keys
Wire cutters
Ethanol
Cable ties
Distance gauge
Distance sheet 0.4 mm
SITEST program

X See operating manual.
X Dismantle the Y axis incremental encoders at
the two basic gantries (1 and 4 or 2 and 3) (3).
X To do this, loosen the 2 M3x10 hexagon
socket-head screws (2), in each case.
X Attach the incremental encoder to the basic
gantry with the cable ties.
CAUTION:
During removal, make sure that you do
not damage the reading surface of the
incremental encoder.
X Move the two basic gantries to the left.

T = PCB direction of transport
X Wear protective gloves.
X Start from the right side of the machine. Use
the chisel (2) to lever the Y scale (1) from the
contact surface to the two basic gantries, on
the left side.
X Move the two gantries to the right, so that you
can detach the rest of the incremental scale.
CAUTION:
Use the chisel very carefully when near
the drilling (3), so that you do not
damage this hole.
X Remove the incremental scale.
CAUTION:
When removing the scale, make sure
that you do not twist or otherwise
damage it.
X Use the chisel to remove any adhesive
residues from the contact surface.
X Remove any remaining adhesive with a
multiflex pad.
X Clean the contact surface with a lint-free cloth
and ethanol.
ATTENTION:
The contact surface must be clean and
totally free of adhesive.
