Primary IDE Controller
The following parameters must be defined for the first IDE channel.
Auto If this option is activated, the BIOS will attempt to detect the parameters
of the hard disk and to set them up optimally on startup.
Type The hard disk type is always USR1
Cyl Number of cylinders of the hard disk
Heads Number of heads of the hard disk
SPT Number of sectors per track
Precomp Write precompensation
L-Zone Landing zone
Size The size of the hard disk in MB will be calculated automatically by the
BIOS based on the parameters and cannot be set.
Trans Mode Transfer mode of hard disk
Normal
For hard disks larger than 504 MB, Normal Mode has to be used under
RMOS.
Important:
None of the options Block Mode, 32 bit or Fast PIO may be activated.
Drive Wait Time
This is the time the BIOS waits for a response from an IDE hard disk during startup.

If this option is activated, the BIOS chacks whether the format which has
been set in the parameters is supported by the connected drive. If not, an
error message is issued during booting (if this option has been
activated).

Boot Sequence Set the boot media sequence:
A:, C:
The system first attempts to boot from drive A:, then from drive C:
Typematic Sets the keyboard reaction time.
Num Lock On This option sets whether the BIOS sets the Num Lock feature on the
keyboard on or off prior to booting.
Halt on Errors If this option is activated, BIOS will stop during the start-up process in the
event of an error and will display an error message. If this option is not
activated, the BIOS continues without an error message and uses the
default values for processing. If the option is activated, the following
causes of errors can additionally be ruled out:
Keyboard Errors Keyboard errors do not generate an error message.
Disk Errors Floppy and hard disk errors do not generate an error
message.
