1.5.4.1 The head modularity concept
The abbreviation HM in the designation of the SIPLACE F
5
HM stands for “Head Modularity”. 1
This concept aims to allow 6-segment and 12-segment Collect&Place heads to be combined on
the placement machine as required. Since the placement heads are easy to change, the ma-
chines can be adapted to the requirements of new placement jobs extremely quickly. 1
The head modularity concept will be implemented in the next development stage. Placement ma-
chines with the designation HM are already prepared for this concept. 1

HM machine has the same functional structure as the SIPLACE F

. 1
The only differences are: 1
(1) the new generation of 6-segment Collect&Place heads/DLM1
(2) the new generation of 12-segment Collect&Place heads/DLM1
(3) the head modularity concept, i.e. any combination of 6 and 12-segment Collect&Place heads
can be used
(4) increased measuring precision of the travel paths of the gantry axes
(5) the use of a more powerful machine controller
(6) the use of series 9xx nozzles with the DLM1 Collect&Place head
(7) the use of series 8xx nozzles with the 6-segment Collect&Place head
(8) the use of the fine-pitch vision module for the Pick&Place head
