3 General
The station software of the SIPLACE machines allows you to perform a vacuum test for the
individual heads.
The disadvantage of this method, however, is that it does not cover the entire vacuum circuit.
Closed nozzles are available for each SIPLACE placement head to allow the entire vacuum circuit to
be measured, right up to the tip of the nozzle.
3.1 Order numbers:
C&P - DLM head:
"Nozzle type 769 vacuum test DLM" [03067029-01]
C&P - CP20 / CP20a / CP20m:
"Nozzle type 1069 / vacuum test C+P20" [03094112-01]
C&P - CP20p / CP20M2 :
„Nozzle type 4069/6069 cpl. / vacuum test“ [03106244-01]
C&P - CPP:
"Nozzle type 2069 complete / vacuum test CPP" [03094135-01]

4 Vacuum check with closed nozzles
4.1 On C&P 6/12 DLM heads
Damages at valve plungers, silicon hoses, sealing or within the nozzle can lead to leakage which
will cause faults in the placement process or reduces the vacuum values in the holding circuit and
the placement circuit.
Vacuum check with standard nozzle configuration
The vacuum check for placement heads C&P6/12 in the station software normally checks only
the area between vacuum generator and valve plunger.
The highlighted area (red frame) cannot be checked by a normal vacuum test:
from the body of the valve plunger via silicon hose through the sleeve via segment body to the
nozzle.
Figure 4-1:Vacuum system DLM head
Vacuum check with closed (red) nozzles
In order to do a vacuum check of the whole vacuum circuit, closed nozzles are necessary.

Start SITEST and perform a first reference run.
Select the gantry for the desired vacuum check of the placement head C&P6/12
Return all nozzles of the placement head to the nozzle changer.
Replace a filled magazine at one magazine position with a nozzle magazine containing
nozzles for vacuum check [03067029-01].
In the menu nozzles on head select for segment 1 the nozzle which was configured for this
magazine position.
Activate the checkbox all segments as segment 1
Pick up the nozzles for vacuum check with all segments.
Select the menu vacuum check and perform a vacuum check.
Figure 4-2: measurement with closed nozzles nominal
The measurement values show that open values deviates by up to 3 mbar from the closed
values.
This is within tolerances of 25mbar, which is the precondition for a correct function.
Check the valve plungers and suction plate and replace them in case the values are out of
tolerance.
