2.6 Preparation for the conversion

BEFORE starting any work, shut down the operating system correctly, then switch the machine
OFF at the main power switch and disconnect from the main power supply. In addition, the com-
pressed air supply must be switched off at the compressed air unit's main valve in the machine
base and vented by actuating the needle valve on the compressed air unit.

: Make sure that the placement heads and hoses are fitted correctly:
– a vacuum-compatible placement head with conversion kit is used with a vacuum pump
– a placement head designed for venturi operation is used in compressed air mode.

If the conversion is carried out incorrectly, it may lead to damage to the C&P20 placement head.2

: On the gantry, check whether the distributor placement head
a) is designed for compressed air only: all connector openings Ø8 mm, or whether it 2
b) is designed for compressed air or vacuum operation: with a larger connector opening
(Ø12 mm). 2

In version a), the head can only be connected to the compressed air. The connections on the dis-
tributor placement head are not changed. 2

In version b), you can either use compressed air or connect a vacuum pump (see section 1.11 of
the vacuum pump retrofit instructions). In either case, the placement head must be set up accord-
ingly. 2

2.7 Conversion to compressed air (version a)
The hoses on the distributor do not change (see Fig. 2.6 - 1). 2
: Shorten the hose identified with the arrow in Fig. 2.6 - 1 to 18 cm.
: Attach the angled connector (03051799-xx) to it.
: Push the reducer Ø8/12 (03052399-xx) into the angled connector.
: Push the reducer into the placement head (see Fig. 2.7 - 1).

: Attach the Ø 8 mm hose to the pressure control valve.
: Attach the Ø 6 mm hose to the return cylinder.
