POLYHOS WL Series
Description
ASYS introduces the POLYPHOS WL series of laser welding
systems, providing a complete product line featuring laser
technology tailored to the process. The ergonomically crafted
POLYPHOS WL laser welding systems are equipped with state-
of-the-art laser technology. Development eorts were concen-
trated on safety, user-friendliness, minimized footprint, and
seamless integration into the Smart Factory.

Options
_ Automatic laser power measurement
_ Laser power calibration
POLYPHOS WL Types:
Automotive Camera
is a machine platform suitable for the hermetically sealed laser welding of aluminum housings. It is used in the final assembly
of automotive cameras to save costs by replacing screw and adhesive technologies.
The system consists of a carrier transport system and a laser system with collimation and focusing optics adapted to process
requirements, CNC beam deflection, and a fiber laser beam source.
Bipolar Plate Fuel Cell (BPP)
is a high-precision machine platform suitable for welding thin stainless steel sheets. It is used for the hermetically sealed wel-
ding of metallic bipolar plates in fuel cells. The system consists of a linear transport system for the workpiece carriers and hold-
down devices in the form of welding masks. High throughput is achieved through two parallel welding units, each equipped
with a pair of the latest Galvo scanners and a total of four fiber laser beam sources.
Plastic Welding (PL)
is a machine platform suitable for plastic welding. It is used, for example, in production facilities for manufacturers of point-
of-care (POC) in-vitro diagnostic rapid tests, where short cycle times and high process reliability are required. Depending on
product requirements, line welding, quasi-simultaneous welding, or contour welding as a joining process. The system consists
of suitable handling systems and the actual laser system, such as fiber-coupled diode lasers or CW fiber lasers at the process-
required wavelength.
Standardized mechanical and electrical interfaces, such as SMEMA and HERMES, allow easy horizontal integration into final
assembly production lines, for example, with optional carrier return transport systems. Further mechanical configurations,
including product positioning via 6-axis robots, are possible as custom solutions tailored to specific customer needs.
