SCENARIO:
Your customers or your internal policies require
you to verify your machines’ capabilities, for
example for internal or external audits.
You want to reduce your DPM rate while
increasing your first-pass yield.
You must have the capabilities of your machines
certified by an external partner and want to make
the necessary preparations in order to avoid the
costs of another visit by that external partner.
The SIPLACE offer:
This special SIPLACE tool makes it possible to
verify the placement accuracy and capability of
SIPLACE placement machines. The machine
verification tools include everything one needs to
perform automatic (internal) verifications of all
SIPLACE machines. It does not matter whether
they are equipped with an analog ICOS vision
system or a digital SIPLACE vision system.
This special SIPLACE tool enables any production
to improve the yield and other key performance
indicators.

TESTS WHICH CAN BE PERFORMED WITH THE SIPLACE TOOLS
Software: Analog ICOS vision system: The test software is built into the station
software. Select the appropriate program for the current machine
configuration and start the placement process.
Digital SIPLACE vision system: The test software (ACT-CD) comes
with the toolkit. Select the appropriate version for SIPLACE Pro 5.2, 7.x,
8 or 9.2 and for the X- or S-tables being used. Start the program that
matches the head configuration.
Function: Depending on the head configuration, either ceramic or glass
components are placed on a grid board made of glass. The PCB camera
then photographs the board (one picture with ceramic components; four
sequential pictures with glass components) to determine the position of
the components and any resulting X, Y and O offsets. The measurement
results are not absolute, but relative; the positioning accuracy and the
dynamic settings have no impact on the quality of the measurement
results. The level of accuracy depends only on the camera’s resolution
and not on the mechanical components.
Adjustments and
repairs:
The software automatically corrects the X, Y and O offsets for the analog
ICOS and the digital SIPLACE vision systems and takes these
corrections into accounts for future placements. The system can
generate a final report, which can be stored on a suitable medium (disk,
USB memory stick, etc.).
If the machine verification fails despite mapping and dynamic
adjustments or the specified CmK values are not reached, the placement
head or gantry will have to be replaced.
